Within the framework of the developments that Ain Shams University Hospitals witness every day, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, witnessed the university hospitals receiving five new ambulances equipped with the highest level of medical equipment, bearing part of the cost of the hospital and university budget, in addition to donations from charitable organizations such as the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and the Al-Saleh Association, In the presence of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector at the University, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Anwar, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, Prof. Dr. Walid Anwar, Director of Ain Shams Specialized Hospital, Prof. Dr. Tariq Youssef, Director of the Hospital of Surgery and Deputy Director of Hospitals, Prof. Dr. Samia Abdo, Deputy Director of Hospitals, Prof. Dr. Amr Mabrouk, Head of the Plastic Surgery Department at Ain Shams Medicine, Prof. Dr. Karim Masoud, Professor of Plastic Surgery at Ain Shams Medicine and representatives of the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, Mrs. Nora Selim, Executive Director of the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, Mrs. Heba Iskandar, Director of Development and Development at Orascom, and Mrs. Mays Abu Hijab.
Also Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, witnessed the signature of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, who signed a contract to receive the laser unit at the university hospitals, with two new laser devices, which was donated by the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development.
During the events, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, said that Ain Shams University hospitals represent a large and essential part of the medical and treatment process in Egypt, stressing that the university administration spares no effort in its continuous development in order to permanently improve the level of health service provided to citizens.
He praised the positive role played by civil society institutions in supporting Ain Shams University hospitals over the years, which contributed to significant additions to university hospitals.
On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Tariq Youssef, Director of Surgical Hospital in Damerdash and Deputy Director of Hospitals, said that the new laser devices are expected to arrive within 3 months, as they serve the laser unit, which is a specialized unit of the Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery,He stressed that laser devices are not only used for cosmetic purposes, but are also used to treat blood bags in the skin and under the skin and all congenital defects in the skin, pointing out that one of the two devices will be used to remove pigments and blood birthmarks, and the other to remove dark pigmentation.
He added that all faculty members in the department will be trained to use the new devices so that the department can maintain its leadership in this field.
And about ambulances Prof. Dr. Amr Mabrouk, Head of the Plastic Surgery Department, explained that the five cars that were received are of the highest level of medical equipment, as they include patient monitoring devices, a respirator, infusion syringes, and an electric shock device for cardiac resuscitation.
It also includes training paramedics and the ambulance driver to deal with critical cases until they reach the hospital.
He added that within a month, the number of modern ambulances will reach 8, as 3 new cars will join, and within 6 months of the plan, two will also be included, as the nucleus of an integrated ambulance facility serving all university hospitals in the future.
