Since the launch of the second phase of the presidential initiative to eradicate the virus "C virus" and the detection of noncommunicable diseases, under the slogan "100 Million Health", last October, Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat to be at the forefront of the institutions participating in this important presidential initiative. This was confirmed by Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Students Affairs.
He explained that the university succeeded in coordination with the Ministry of Health and in cooperation with the Center for the treatment and research of liver viruses and university hospitals and the Faculty of Medicine under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metiny, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Council, decided to allocate fixed premises for the medical survey of C virus to all members of the university community (students, faculty and administrators) as well as the mobile campaigns that tour the campus and various Faculties.
Indeed, in the framework of the Presidential Initiative for the Elimination of the C virus and the detection of noncommunicable diseases, nearly 210,000 students have been identified, including 33,000 new students during the current academic year 2018/2019, 15,000 teaching staff members and 30,000 employees.
In addition, a comprehensive plan has been implemented through the university to provide headquarters for the campaign of 100 million health within the medical centers located in the university cities. The campaign has already started its work within the university city, and it will continue from February 10 to the medical centers in the main university city for students and the university city at Helmeyet AlZaitoun.
Prof. Dr. Osama Ashraf, director of the Center for the treatment and research of hepatitis viruses at Ain Shams University pointed out that the positive cases that prove infected with the virus (C) are subject to immediate treatment at the expense of the State and in cooperation with the Center for treatment and research of liver viruses at Ain Shams University, which is unique to the existence of specialized clinics for patients Virus (C), there are clinics C virus and the elderly, psychological and neurological and addiction, and kidney clinic and hepatic foci, and the clinic of blood diseases, heart clinic, skin clinic.
Positive cases are followed up after each dose of treatment until it is done for PCR analysis and follow-up after the completion of treatment every three months and for two years through a specialized clinic for patients with relapse who are infected with the virus again after the completion of recovery.
