Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, announced the selection of Obour University Hospital, affiliated with Ain Shams University Hospitals, to be the champion of the year 2020-2021, due to the heroic role that the hospital has played since the emergence of the global Corona pandemic and its transformation into an isolation hospital.
Where the hospital has treated 2,658 cases so far, including 1,169 intensive care cases for Corona patients over the past 16 months since the new Corona virus entered Egypt in March of 2020.
Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini thanked the hospital team, led by Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohsen, Director of Al-Obour University Hospital, and all medical and nursing staff, workers and administrators in the hospital.
El-Metini has honored, during the past year, all doctors and medical staff and all the contributors from the members of the university community in implementing the comprehensive and proactive plan of Ain Shams University to confront the Covid-19 virus.
In a related context, a number of those recovering from the virus who received treatment and health care at Obour University Hospital expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the accurate, high-quality and efficient health system that is being implemented tirelessly inside the hospital. Dr. Mohamed Taher Hegazy, former professor and head of the department of ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine, Benha, and one of the recipients of medical service at Obour University Hospital due to infection with the Corona virus, was called the “Shifa Factory” for Obour University Hospital, because of the health care it received at the highest level.
