June 18... The final artistic performance of Ain Shams University students at the International Festival of Drums and Traditional Arts

The Folklore Ensemble of Ain Shams University students continues its participation in the International Festival of Drums and Heritage Arts, which Cairo will host in its eighth session from 12 to 18 June under the slogan “Drums for Peace Dialogue”.

The participation of the Folklore Ensemble of Ain Shams University in the festival was widely accepted and praised by the international community, especially since it is the only Egyptian university that is unique in participating in various artistic forms throughout the seven days of the festival.

The students, members of the University’s Folklore Troupe, received all means of support and care from Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-eatini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

The participation of the Folklore Ensemble of Ain Shams University was distinctive and unique, due to the multiplicity of artistic taboos that varied between the African tabloid, the Saidi tabloid and the religious tabloid, in addition to the dance and anthem of Ain Shams University in the pharaonic dress and the pharaonic taboo on the Castle Theater and Prince Taz Theatre, and the university continues its performances in Freedom Park And the Sinnari House, leading to the final show next Friday, June 18, at the Citadel Theatre, under the supervision of Prof Dr. Tamer Rady, Advisor to the Vice President for Student Activities and Prof. Muhammad Al-Khatib, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Muhammad Al-Sharkawi, Director General of Youth Welfare, and Mr. Mustafa Issa, director of the technical activity department, and the supervisors of the department.

30 troupes from the countries of “Colombia and South Sudan, guest of honour,” will participate in the festival, along with teams from the Philippines, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Sudan, Yemen and some foreign communities residing in Egypt.

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, witnessed the opening ceremony of the festival, which was held at the Bir Youssef Theater in the Citadel, in the presence of Dr. Entisar Abdel Fattah, founder and president of the festival, a group of artists, media professionals and representatives of the participating countries.

The festival aims to support spiritual values ​​associated with the concepts of goodness, peace, love, optimism and joy, and to consolidate relations between peoples through the association of art, and to achieve more compatibility and knowledge of different cultures, as well as to spread and preserve the authentic Egyptian heritage that stems from the heart of Egyptian society.

It is worth noting that the festival’s activities are held in several tourist and archaeological places, including Youssef’s Well in the Citadel, Bait Al-Sinari in Sayeda Zeinab, Al-Hanager Square in the Egyptian Opera House, Prince Taz Palace and Al-Ghouri Dome. All events start at eight in the evening, taking into account the application of all precautionary measures.
