The fourth annual conference of the Egyptian Gastroenterology Association recommends vaccinating liver patients against the Corona virus

The 4th annual conference of the Egyptian Gastroenterology Association recommended the necessity of encouraging chronic diseases, patients with liver and immune diseases, and receiving vaccination against the Corona virus.

It also recommended the need to know how corona affects the digestive system and liver, and the need for early diagnosis and treatment of black fungus infection.

The conference also emphasized the importance of early diagnosis of liver and digestive system tumors by following up on the recommendations in the required examinations, emphasizing the need to raise awareness of immunological digestive diseases so that they can be easily diagnosed and treated, paying attention to the diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis B virus, and making sure to receive its vaccination for those who did not receive it. The conference will train young doctors on the use of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopes and modern methods of diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal bleeding of all kinds.

It was also recommended that scientific societies participate in the specialization in setting Egyptian guidelines for gastrointestinal diseases, agreeing on and discussing them.

The conference, which was launched under the slogan (Together, Hand in Hand, We Speak One Language) on the 10th and 11th of this month, discussed many important topics, including hepatitis viruses of all kinds, upper and lower gastrointestinal bleeding, the latest methods in diagnosis and treatment, the new in this field, and the use of modern and future devices for interventions. To solve the problem of upper and lower gastrointestinal bleeding, the cause is unknown.

The new conference also dealt with fatty liver diseases and hepatitis viruses.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Tarek Youssef, Professor of Internal Medicine, Liver and Gastroenterology, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and the conference president explained that the conference witnessed the participation of a large group of professors from most medical faculties in Egyptian universities and doctors from hospitals and the College of Medicine of the Armed Forces and Police Hospitals, and from Ain Shams University Prof. Dr. Sayed Shalaby, President of the Association, Prof. Ahmed Shawky, Professor of Gastroenterology and Head of the Former Department of Gastroenterology, Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Osama Aboul Fotouh, Professor of Gastroenterology, Ain Shams University.

The Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Group at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, the Research Group, the Colon Immunological Diseases Group, the Earth Research Society and the Alexandria Group for the Digestive System, in addition to experts from India and Jordan and some specialists from Arab countries also participated.

Prof. Dr. Tarek Youssef indicated that the first day witnessed five sessions, the first session was for the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, in which Prof. Tariq Youssef dealt with the disease of the age (Corona) and its complications on the digestive system and the liver, as well as discussing everything that is raised about the black fungus, its causes, methods of diagnosis, treatment, and how to prevent it.

The second session was for the Egyptian Liver Cancer Society, during which different cases of liver cancer were discussed and how to treat them surgically, through interventional radiology or liver transplantation.

In the third session, the Delta Group for the digestive system discussed the points of contention in some diseases of the digestive system, and medical cases were presented.

The fourth session was for the Egyptian group of the digestive system and liver, and it touched on functional diseases in the digestive system.

The last session was for the Egyptian Society for the Study of Fatty Liver, in which they discussed the new treatment for fatty liver, and how fatty liver can turn into tumors. The activities of the second day witnessed 6 sessions.

It is noteworthy that registration in the conference was free for all young doctors interested in diseases of the digestive system and liver, and the sessions were combined between (online) sessions and others with direct attendance, and transportation was provided to transport doctors from the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University to the venue of the conference.

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian Society of the digestive system headed by Prof. Dr. Sayed Shalaby, Professor of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and Secretary of the Society, Prof. Dr. Tarek Youssef, Professor of Internal Medicine, Liver and Digestive System, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Conference Chairman and Prof. Issam Bayoumi, treasurer of the association and secretary of the conference.
