Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, supervised by Prof. Esraa Abdel Sayed, Director of the Confucius Institute at the university, Dr. Esraa announced the names of the ten students who won the awards for the Best Poster Competition, which was organized by the Confucius Institute to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and China, which was held under the title “We join hands together hand in hand to create the future.”
Prof. Dr. Esraa Abdel-Sayed said that the number of applicants for the competition reached 62 contestants, who were liquidated in two stages, then a final liquidation took place among 20 contestants who submitted to vote at the level of the People's Republic of China, where the percentage of votes there was more than 4000 votes, where students from all Egyptian universities participated in the competition Among them are the universities of Ain Shams, Helwan, Beni Suef, Badr University, and the International Institute for Languages and Translation.
The disciplines of the participating students varied, whether students of the Chinese language or others from other disciplines such as engineering, agriculture, and others.
A major celebration will be held early next week, in the presence of the university president, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini and the head of the arbitration committee, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saud, during which prizes totaling 32 thousand pounds are distributed.
It is noteworthy that the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University has managed during the short period since its inception to consolidate the bonds of cooperation between the Egyptian and Chinese sides in various cultural and academic fields and has held many international conferences and competitions in cooperation with different universities from China, in addition to the activities of teaching the Chinese language at all levels. From beginners to the final level, as well as holding the International Chinese Language Examination (HSK) online throughout the year.
