The Council of Private and Community Universities held its periodic meeting, headed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Helmy El-Ghar, Secretary General of the Council, and the members of the Council, at the headquarters of the Egyptian Russian University.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Board thanked the Egyptian Russian University; for hosting the private and Community universities council meeting.
The Minister of Higher Education directed to stress the implementation of all precautionary and preventive measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus in universities, take measures to reduce the number of students in grades, teaching rooms and laboratories, and reduce the time allocated to lectures and the presence of the professor and workers at rates that allow the educational process to proceed, taking into account the use of distance education whenever possible. ; To reduce the presence of students in universities.
The minister directed the necessity of integrating the skills of the twenty-first century in the curricula of Egyptian university students, and the mechanism for assessing the level of students in mastering these skills, given the total change in a number of countries in the world that have begun to link education and obtaining jobs with skills and competencies and not with certificates.
The Minister instructed universities to seek assistance from the National Identification Center to obtain certificates and official papers; to ensure that it is safe and not amenable to fraud.
The Council witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Council of Private and Community Universities and the Fund for Honoring Martyrs, Victims, Missing Persons and Victims of War, Terrorist and Security Operations and their families, to support the Fund with material resources, in the presence of the Fund's Executive Director.
The Council reviewed the ministerial decisions issued during the last period related to the start of studies at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a number of faculties, as ministerial decisions were issued to start studying at the undergraduate level at King Salman International Universities with its three branches in Al Tur, Sharm El Sheikh and Ras Sidr - El Alamein International - Galala - Badr - Egypt for Science and Technology - Sphinx - Horus - Deraya). The Council approved the introduction of a course change system for students who are unable to complete their educational career within their faculties, in order to regulate the students' desire to transfer from one faculty to another non-similar faculty in the same university or another university, according to several conditions including: That an academic year has passed since The system is applied to students enrolled in faculties, and the system applies to students who are not enrolled in faculties on the condition that a full academic year passes for them only on the last entry, and the minimum admission limit for the faculty to which the transfer is to be transferred is met in the year of enrollment, and the student is considered a newcomer to the new faculty. Consideration of requests to change course according to a letter from the desired university with attached documents, and in the event of clearing previous courses, the minimum number of semesters necessary for graduation must be met.
The Council emphasized the speedy progress of faculties to the Quality Assurance Authority, in order to obtain the authority's accreditation.
The Council agreed to direct graduation projects to the Faculties of Engineering and Applied Arts in universities, to beautify the New Administrative Capital, as part of the national initiative to beautify the New Administrative Capital.
The Council approved an academic cooperation agreement between Ain Shams University and 6 October University, in the academic and training fields, and the development of joint scientific research in line with Egypt Vision 2030, in addition to organizing and holding scientific conferences, Scientific Symposiums and seminars on topics of common interest, cooperation in the implementation of medical convoys and exchange of experiences Consulting in various fields.
The council agreed to participate in the Fulbright Commission programs for the academic year 2022/2023, and to participate in an online seminar about the Commission’s programs for graduate students and faculty members, and to provide instructions to them on how to apply in various scientific and literary majors.
The Council discussed the universities' readiness to apply online admission for the academic year 2021/2022, and approved the first week of August 2021 as a deadline for conducting entrance examinations, so that the lists of successful candidates in the admission tests can be entered into the electronic admission system in sufficient time, before starting the electronic admission procedures in its three stages, which are It coincides with the time phases of government electronic coordination.
The Council stressed the need to review civil defense systems and apply the industrial security system to all university facilities, in order to achieve safety requirements to provide protection and safety for all workers in those facilities.
The Council was informed of the decision of the Council of Ministers in its 138th session, regarding stressing the need to follow precautionary and preventive measures to limit the spread of the new Corona virus.
