Electronic waste and its recycling ... The third event of the Environment Week in Ain Shams

The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, organized a seminar entitled "E-waste and its Recycling", on the third day of the Faculty Environment Week, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, supervised by Prof. Dr. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean of Community Service Affairs, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Abdel-Masih Samaan, Vice-Dean of the Institute of Environmental Studies and Research of postgraduate studies and research affairs, formerly the determined of the scientific committee for postgraduate studies and a member of the faculty council from abroad.

     
 
     

Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, during her opening speech stressed the imperative to preserve our mother planet, reconsider the uses of our non-renewable resources, and apply clear rules on how to preserve the environment and with the development of the environment to achieve the benefit of all available resources.

For her part, Prof. Dr. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean of Community Service and Environmental Development, provided that the faculty launched its initiative during the Environment Week to recycle electronic waste in the faculty, with the participation of faculty students.

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Masih Samaan, former Vice Dean of the Institute of Environmental Studies and Research of Graduate Studies and Research and the determined of the Scientific Committee for Postgraduate Studies, that electronic waste emits toxic gases, because it contains dangerous and radioactive chemical compounds, stressing that these devices contain toxic substances that are subject to rapid changes that cause serious damage on human health.

The activities of the third day of the environment week also witnessed the organization of a sports day by the community service and environmental development sector in the faculty, in cooperation with the education and students sector and the youth welfare administration, where the faculty yard witnessed students competing in games of speedball and table tennis, In conclusion, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, honored Prof. Dr. Abdel-Masih Samaan, for his efforts to enrich the Faculty Environment Week, and handing him the faculty shield and a certificate of appreciation.
