Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, confirmed that Ain Shams University hospitals represent a large and essential part of the medical and therapeutic process because universities and hospitals are the basis of all development, and therefore it is imperative for our students to find in university hospitals everything new and modern, training and mastering it before they leave for general work.
He praised the positive role of the National Bank of Egypt and its partnership with Ain Shams University Hospitals for several years, which contributed a great addition to the university hospitals; He also expressed his happiness at the beginning of the realization of the great dream that he had, which is for Ain Shams University hospitals to be the standard that all university hospitals should follow, and added that the university hospitals are among the largest hospitals that serve about one and a half million patients annually in various medical specialties, in addition to It includes the best qualified doctors and nursing staff, to which development plans are directed in an effort to raise the efficiency of the service provided to patients, on top of which is reducing patient waiting lists, which supports the state's plans in this regard and is in line with Egypt Vision 2030 in providing the best health care for the Egyptian citizen.
Mr. Hesham Okasha also confirmed the National Bank of Egypt’s constant endeavor to complete its contributions to the development of Ain Shams University and its university hospitals, which have so far reached nearly 400 million pounds, which have been directed to support and develop various medical specialties, which falls within the bank’s contributions in various areas of social responsibility, which exceeded 8 billion In the last five years, it was directed to the various sectors that serve the Egyptian citizen, especially the health and educational sectors, for their direct influence on the state’s development plans, indicating that the share of the education file contributions from them exceeded nearly one billion pounds, while the health file reached three billion pounds within five years This confirms that the bank continues to implement its strategy for social support, which aims to achieve the positive impact of the services provided to citizens.
Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, explained that the achievements of today are the product of long years and a plan devised generation after generation to reach Ain Shams University hospitals to what they aspire to. The Japanese government and the JICA Foundation chose Ain Shams University Hospitals to secure their staff because of their development and modern treatment methods.
Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Anwar, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, indicated that the new operating suite operates on the capsule system at the highest level of international technologies, and is one of the modern medical methods with the highest technologies that provide the patient and the surgeon with the best climate for performing surgeries with the best results, as it includes 18 rooms. Operations, including 14 rooms in the capsule system, with the preparation of recovery rooms in the hospital, which are the needs that have been studied to develop the hospital to meet the growing needs of the citizens who are received by the hospital on a daily basis, and added that the ward, which is the largest operating suite in Egypt, is fully equipped with screens that are also used in teaching for our students.
Prof. Dr. Waled Anwar, Director of Ain Shams University Hospital, explained that today witnesses the opening of the Heart and Lung Patients Rehabilitation Unit, which is the first in Egypt with the most modern scientific devices, in addition to 7 rooms for cardiac services, as well as the magnetic resonance unit with its new devices that shorten the time to about 60 to 70% of the time until It is possible to do a brain scan in 5 minutes, which is the first of its kind in Egypt. Which is a strong addition to Ain Shams Specialized Hospital in order to provide a distinguished medical service.
As reviewed by Prof. Dr. Samia Abdo, Deputy Director of Hospitals and Director of the Infection Control Unit, a project of a security disposal unit for waste disposal according to the highest quality standards, whose capacity has evolved from 160 kilos to 400 kilos per hour.
Nermin Shehab El-Din added that the role of the National Bank of Egypt in supporting Ain Shams University hospitals extended to support the Demerdash Hospital for Surgery by developing the sterilization wing and devices for the vascular department and some departments in the hospital, as well as supporting the Children's Hospital of Ain Shams University Hospitals by equipping the Department of Radiology and Industrial Kidney and developing the chest care unit and endoscopy. Al-Sadr, which had a major role in the current circumstances of the emerging corona virus, in addition to contributing to the development of the stroke unit and the Department of Hematology and Marrow Transplantation at Internal Medicine Hospital and the development of the Operations Complex and the Industrial Kidney and Kidney Unit at Ain Shams Specialized Hospital.
The openings included the combined operations wing of Al-Demerdash University Hospital at a cost of 130 million pounds, of which 120 million pounds were donated by the National Bank of Egypt, 10 million pounds from the Renaissance Association of Ain Shams Medicine, the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at a cost of 16 million pounds, the medical waste complex at a cost of 13 One million pounds and the administrative complex at a cost of 5 million pounds, the multi-storey garage, the development of the general site for hospitals at a cost of 240 million pounds, in addition to the minor operations suite at Ain Shams Specialized Hospital, which includes 4 operating rooms at a cost of 35 million pounds in addition to the radiology unit, a new magnetic resonance suite at a cost 36 million pounds and a unit for examinations and cardiac rehabilitation, at a cost of 10 million pounds.
