Ain Shams University is among the top 200 universities in the world in the field of space sciences, according to the QS classification

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Shawky El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, announced that the results of the QS classification have brought good news to the university’s employees, as the university has made remarkable progress in many scientific fields, stressing that the university has obtained an advanced ranking in 14 fields among the different fields of classification.

The ranking witnessed the university’s first appearance in the fields of (social sciences and management - business administration and studies), as well as the university’s rise among the top 200 universities in the field of space sciences, with more than 200 centers advanced than last year, and the university also maintained its advanced positions among the top 500 University in other areas of classification.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs and General Supervisor of the University's global ranking file, added that the QS is an institution that aims to classify the best 1000 universities around the world through the application of several special criteria among the most important academic reputation and the capabilities that the university provides to its students And the extent of its qualification for its graduates for the labor market, in addition to the number of scientific researches and the rates of international scientific publication of the university, and those in charge of this classification follow up the performance of universities annually to verify the extent of the university’s seriousness in updating its indicators and the efficiency of the educational institution for inclusion in the institution’s evaluation.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ayman Saleh - Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research said that the university administration is giving the international classification file great importance in recent times, in order to advance the international evaluation of the university as the oldest Egyptian and Arab university, and in this context the university has concluded many partnerships and cooperation agreements with several countries Distinguished Arab, regional and international, and has introduced new study programs to keep pace with the rapid scientific development, and in line with the requirements of the labor market.

Prof. Dr. Shahera Samir, Executive Director of the University's International Relations Sector, added that the current results of the classification are not coincidental, but rather are the fruits of what the International Classification Department is doing, one of the departments of the International Cooperation Sector recently established at the university and specialized in the fields of international relations and academic cooperation, the results of which are reflected on the university classification.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Banna - Director of the University's International Classification Office explained that the QS classification for scientific fields showed that the university had advanced positions in several fields, as the university appeared for the first time in the fields of social sciences and management, where the university ranked 501-520, and in the field of business administration and studies (occupied University Center 450-500)

The university advanced in the fields of physics and astronomy to occupy the center (151-200) compared to the last year 451-500, as well as in the field of engineering technology (305) compared to last year (350-400) and life sciences and medicine (the university ranked 376) compared to last year (401-450)

The university maintained its advanced positions among the top 500 universities in the fields of (civil and structural engineering (151-200), mechanical engineering, aviation and manufacturing (301-351), electrical and electronic engineering (201-250), and agricultural sciences (251-300). ), The field of biological sciences (451-500), the field of medical sciences (301-350), the field of computer science and information systems (301-350), the field of natural sciences (the university ranked 451-500), the field of chemistry (the university ranked 401- 450)

Dr. Ahmed Al-Banna, Deputy Director of the International Classification Office, added that the office's team holds periodic meetings to follow up on the permanent developments in the evaluation criteria of the different classifications, and to work on their analysis to determine the extent of their suitability with the available data about the university and its Facultys and institutes, in addition to emphasizing the university's various sectors of the need to provide The data required to be available for the work team to be sent to the classification officials at any time.
