A continuation of the series of activities organized by Ain Shams University under the patronage and presidency of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini; in celebration and appreciation of the efforts of the White Army in facing the crisis of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Department of Orthopedics at the Faculty of Medicine organized a major celebration to honor the doctors, including representatives, teachers, specialists and all medical staff in the department.Where Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University presented them with shields of honor and certificates of appreciation,
in the presence of Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the College of Medicine, and Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Omar Khairy, Head of the Orthopedic Department.
The activities included a moment of silence for the martyr, Prof. Abdel Mohsen Arafa, professor in the department, for his efforts and contributions in serving patients and his dedication to fulfilling his humanitarian duty.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini on the efforts of doctors and the role of the Orthopedic Department in facing the pandemic.
He also stressed the importance of continuing research efforts, pointing out that the pandemic, despite the challenges it imposed, was a golden opportunity to intensify research efforts, which was reflected in the classification of the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University and made it among the top 200 faculties in the world in record time.
He reviewed the anticipated plan to confront the second wave of the pandemic, stressing that there was a clear vision of the need to preserve Ain Shams Specialized Hospital and Demerdash Hospital in providing various medical services to citizens, with a focus on providing medical services to Corona patients free of charge at Obour Hospital and the field hospital for isolation.
Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh in his speech referred to the university's efforts to overcome all obstacles facing researchers for further international publication of research.
Prof. Ashraf Omar and Prof. Dr. Omar Khairy, praised the doctors' efforts and courage in carrying out their humanitarian duty without laxity, and they also praised the university administration's continuous support and the provision of all supplies to perfectly overcome this difficult challenge.
