The Faculty of Al-Alsun celebrates the graduation of the batch of 2022/2023

The Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University organized a graduation ceremony for students of the 2022/2023 batch, under the patronage of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of the University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Saleh Hashem, former university president, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and supervised by Prof. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Nasser Abdel-Al, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Mrs. Irma Gonzalez, Cultural Advisor to the Portuguese Embassy in Cairo, Prof. Abdel Muti Saleh, former faculty dean for education and student affairs, Prof. Abdel Masih Samaan, former Vice Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Studies, Prof. Ayman Salama, professor of international law and member of the Faculty Council from abroad, and the heads of academic departments.

         
   
         

During his opening speech, Prof. Saleh Hashem, former university president, emphasized that graduation day is the result of a four-year struggle for students and parents, stressing that the Faculty of Al-Alsun graduates have many fields of work ahead of them, noting that a large number of faculty students began their working lives before graduation.

While Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, confirmed that today we are witnessing the graduation of a new batch of students from the various programs in the semester and credit system and from the various stages from Bachelor’s to Doctorate, including two programs at the Master’s level in cooperation with prestigious European universities. It is a joint master's program in cooperation with the University of Salamanca, Spain, and a joint master's program with the University of Leipzig, Germany.

Today also witnesses the graduation of the first batch of the Portuguese Language and Literature Program in accordance with the cooperation agreement with the Portuguese University of Porto, the Camões Institute and Ain Shams University.

         
   
         

She pointed out that the dream of graduation could not have been achieved except with the support that the faculty provides to its students to develop skills and abilities through academic programs or through various events and activities that take place on a daily basis and host experts at the local, regional and international levels. The faculty’s efforts were crowned with the accreditation of nine of its programs. The Faculty of Al-Alsun, at Ain Shams University, which was founded by the eminent scholar Rifa’a Al-Tahtawi in 1835, will remain the mother faculty and the beacon for all corresponding faculties in the languages and translation sector.

The university administration also had a concerted role with the faculty. As Ain Shams University has achieved great successes at various levels during the recent period, during which it was able to contribute to enhancing the efficiency and capabilities of the university’s faculties at the scientific, academic, and service levels, it is the only university to obtain five stars in the British QS evaluation.

         
   
         

While Prof. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, confirmed that Graduation Day is an annual tradition organized by the sector under the auspices of Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, in cooperation with the Ain Shams University Alumni Association and the Faculty’s Graduate Follow-up and Vocational Training Unit, to celebrate the students after their struggle for four years, this celebration is the culmination of the efforts of several parties, namely the parents who provided support to their children throughout four academic years, and also the culmination of the efforts of the education sector and students to provide distinguished educational services to students. Today also witnesses the culmination of the community service and environmental development sector at the faculty through the activities it provided to students over the course of Four years of seminars, workshops, convoys, campaigns, vaccinations, field training, literacy eradication, cooperation and constant communication between the sector and students to provide support to them even after graduation.

   
   

During the speech of Prof. Ayman Salama, professor of international law and member of the Faculty Council from abroad, stressed that the graduates of the Faculty of Alsun, Ain Shams University, are ambassadors who strengthen relations between nations and civilized peoples, and they must adhere to the rules of credibility in transmitting translations between nations. He also pointed out that translation is one of the diverse fields available to work in for graduates of the Faculty of Alsun.

Graduate Reham Abbas, from the Department of Oriental Languages, Persian Division, also gave the graduates’ speech, thanking the Faculty administration for the achievements and efforts made during the previous period, which were greatly noted in the development of infrastructure, renovations, the opening of Landscape, and the opening of new advanced halls. The Faculty also paid attention to e-learning platforms, which had the greatest role in completing the education stage during the Corona pandemic and until now in organizing the educational process in addition to offline lectures, as well as field training that contributed to learning about the labor market before graduation.

The ceremony witnessed a parade of graduates in front of the audience, including faculty staff, teaching assistants, and parents. In conclusion, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, honored the graduates, presented them with graduation shields and certificates, and took souvenir photos.
