The Faculty of Agriculture in its new dress

Today, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, opened the Faculty of Agriculture after development and renovation, Prof. Hisham Tamraz, former vice president for community service and environmental development, Prof. Ahmed Galal, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Hisham Al-Hariri, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Walaa El-Sayed, former Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Nabil Al-Madani, former Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Yasser Mujahid, Director of the Engineering Consultation Center at the Faculty of Engineering, and Eng. Awad Desouky, Director General of the Faculty.

         
   
         

The inauguration of the Faculty of Agriculture, at Ain Shams University, comes after the completion of the infrastructure development work of the Faculty, where the dilapidated water network was changed, new lines were installed, the sewage network was established, natural gas was connected to the Faculty, the electricity network, and fire networks were changed, the green spaces were developed, and interlock installations were made in all the main and side streets of the Faculty.

This is in addition to the opening of a fish farming farm in the Faculty after development (a research-training-production farm). It is one of the most important projects that were launched at the Faculty of Agriculture, at Ain Shams University and was designed at the highest level for tilapia production. The Faculty of Agriculture, at Ain Shams University, is the first of its kind at the level of faculties. Agriculture in Egyptian universities.

     
 
     

The farm includes a large earthen basin and 20 concrete basins with a production capacity of 25 tons of fish per cycle, with a period of time from 5 to 6 months.

Tilapia fish are raised inside the ponds, in addition to a hatchery to provide the necessary fry for each cycle. It is an impressive scientific experiment with high productivity that uses modern and innovative methods in this farm, which is a model farm that contributes to bridging the food gap and provides vast areas of land for growing crops, as it gives higher production by an average Production of 4-6 tons for a pond of 600 cubic meters equal to or greater than the productivity of an acre of 4200 cubic meters, with the cultivation system inland farms to save water, and the production of agricultural fertilizers to be used in the process of fertilizing agricultural lands to increase agricultural production.
