In cooperation with the electronic portal... The University Awards Office meets in its fortieth meeting the faculty staff who have received prestigious awards
Based on Ain Shams University's keenness to achieve excellence and competition, and as a continuation of Ain Shams University's leadership in the field of awards through its pioneering and distinguished scholars in various fields, and benefit from the practical experience of recipients of prestigious awards, the University Awards Office, in cooperation with the electronic portal, continued its meetings and held the thirty-ninth meeting for recipients of prestigious awards as well as pioneers, which was held at the University’s Networking and Information Technology Center on June 13, 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Islam Hegazy, Executive Director of the Center for Networking and Information Technology, Prof. Rasha Ismail, Director of the Electronic Portal, Prof. Alaa Abdel Halim Farag, General Supervisor of the Awards Office at the University.
The Awards Office hosted Prof. Saad El-Sayed Hassan, Professor of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, at Ain Shams University and former Dean of the Faculty of Science, and recipient of many awards, including:
The State Encouragement Award in Chemistry from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in 1975
Award of the Order of Sciences and Arts of the first class from the President of the Republic in 1977
State Appreciation Award in Basic Sciences from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in 1999
Nile Prize in Advanced Technological Sciences from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in 2008
The British Royal Society Prize in Chemistry from England in 1979
- Gold Medal of the American Chemical Society from America in 1982
Prize of the Academy of Sciences for Third World Countries from Italy in 1987
- Medal of Appreciation from the Chemistry Olympiad from Greece in 2003
His Excellency is listed among the top 2% of world scientists in the American Stanford University classification.
It is worth noting that Prof. Saad El-Sayed Hassan supervises many memberships of international federations and academies, including membership in the Federation of Scientists in America, membership in the American Association for the Advancement of Science, membership in the Academy of Sciences for Third World Countries in Italy, membership in the Academy of Sciences in New York, membership in the Egyptian Academy of Sciences, and His Excellency the representative of Egypt in the United Nations Program for the environment, as well as the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
The meeting also hosted Prof. Samia Khader Saleh, Professor of Sociology and former Head of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, who received many honors for her efforts and excellence in many societal issues and participation in many projects to develop scientific curricula and plans.
She worked as a head of the Street Children Project team at the level of Ain Shams University, and she has many supervisions on master's and doctoral theses, exceeding 60 from Egypt, as well as supervision of theses from many Arab countries. She is also a writer and has many collections of stories. She was honored at Ain Shams University's celebration of the International Arabic Language Day for the year 2022, and she was previously honored in 2014 by the university in appreciation of her distinguished efforts and continuous giving.
She has many interviews, television interviews, and press interviews on various societal issues.
Both of them emphasized the prominent role played by Ain Shams University in supporting scientific research and encouraging international publishing, and they gave their sincere thanks to the university administration headed by Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini and the deputies for providing all forms of support and facilities, in addition to supporting participation in conferences and equipping research laboratories, and overcoming all the difficulties facing researchers to achieve excellence.
Each of them sent an important message to the university's youth who specialize in scientific research, as they emphasized the importance of patience and continuous work in self-development and the necessity of teamwork and commitment to accuracy to achieve excellence in the fields of specialization, as well as continuing to learn and communicate with professors specialized in scientific research.
They also called for promoting innovation and research excellence to raise the university's leadership, striving to compete at the global level and working to continue to improve its international ranking.
