Private examination panels for latecomers and closed boxes for mobile phones... The latest methods of preventing cheating in the end-of-year exams at the Faculty of Law

Within the framework of Ain Shams University's keenness on the interest of students and the graduation of strong batches in all educational fields, the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University has taken a number of new measures to prevent fraud within committees.

Prof. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, praised these procedures during his tour of the exam committees at the Faculty of Law to inspect the progress of the second semester exams, during which he was accompanied by Prof. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Mohamed El-Shafei, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmed Dehom, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, praised the keenness of the Faculty administration to implement precautionary measures and sterilize committees before the start of exams, in addition to the package of measures taken by the Faculty to prevent cheating and leaking exams, including for the first time making committees for late students and placing questions through the Knowledge Bank.

Also Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, congratulated Prof. Mohamed Safi on signing a new cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Law at the University of Lyon to grant a Bachelor of Laws degree from France.

Prof. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Fculty, explained that the second semester exams will continue until June 15, under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law added that the instructions for entering the exams were printed on the study schedules, making them accessible to all students, in addition to introducing several measures to prevent fraud, including the establishment of a committee for those who are late for the exam date, with a maximum of 30 minutes, and a personal pledge is signed by the student not to be late again. Repeated delays are referred for investigation, and closed boxes have been made in which mobile phones are placed and the national ID card is placed with them to ensure that this is not cheated. The authors of the questions took into account all categories of students, and the questions ranged between easy and medium, in addition to some questions with higher content to measure the level of the student superior.

The number of students who take exams is about 35,000 students, 21,752 in the Arabic section, 2,976 students in the English section, 111 students in the French section, and 4,001 in postgraduate studies, in 3 periods a day for 4 days, and two periods for two days.

It is worth noting that since the first semester exams for the academic year 2022/2023, full use has been made of Ain Shams University educational platforms, "Ain Shams University e-learning portal ASU 2 Learn and Ain Shams University electronic assessment platform ASU 2 Test, which were implemented by the Department of Education Development at Ain University Shams is headed by Prof. Mona Abdel-Al, who said that these platforms have succeeded in providing an innovative educational experience at various stages, from the first university years to the bachelor’s or licentiate stage, as well as students of blended education.

This is in addition to activating the question banks system with a total of 1911 question banks and 331,418 questions, activating the electronic correction system that is distinguished by the accuracy of the extracted results, as well as activating the electronic exams system and establishing electronic exam centers that include 9 halls with a capacity of 1950 students, in addition to small halls with a capacity of 35 students that have been provided in other faculties for this purpose.
