The closing visit of the English medical delegation from the Royal Brampton and Harvard Hospitals to the Heart Diseases and Surgery Hospital at Ain Shams University

The English medical delegation from the Royal Brampton and Harvard Hospitals Group, England, concluded its fourth visit to the Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery Hospital at Ain Shams University Hospitals, under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ain Shams University Hospitals.

A closing meeting was held for the English medical staff, in the presence of Prof. Tarek Youssef, Acting Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, Prof. Muhammad Al-Ghannam, General Manager of the hospital, and Prof. Sameh Samir, professor of cardiology and deputy director of the hospital, Prof. Mostafa Abdel-Azim, Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Prof. Ahmed Baheg Al-Kurdani, Professor of Cardiac Surgery, Prof. Ehab Abdel Razek, Professor of Cardiac Surgery, Dr. Fadel Hassan, Director of Operations, Cardiac Surgery, Prof. Sherif Essam, Professor of Vascular Surgery, Prof. Ahmed Samir, Professor of Interventional Radiology, Prof. Mohamed Zaki, Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery and Deputy Director of Al-Demerdash Surgical Hospital, and a group of faculty staff, to discuss the pros and cons of the visit and discuss the future of cooperation between the two parties.

The visit included interventions to treat aortic patients, including open-heart surgery, cardiac and peripheral catheters, to install stents in the aorta, and replace the aortic valve.

On the sidelines of the visit, a scientific day was held to exchange experiences and discussions between the two parties in the field of aortic surgery. The visiting delegation expressed its happiness with the medical level of the Ain Shams University team and the equipment of the catheterization operating rooms.

The visiting delegation also expressed its willingness to receive the Egyptian medical team from Ain Shams University Hospitals, who are scheduled to travel to the Royal Brampton and Harvard Hospitals in early June, on the sidelines of mutual visits within the cooperation protocol between the two parties, which will continue for a period of 5 years.

During the visit, Prof. Muhammad Al-Ghannam, General Manager of the hospital, said that the Egyptian medical staff, which is the aorta surgery team, has benefited, and the English medical staff have benefited scientifically and practically from the cooperation.

This joint cooperation reflects Ain Shams University's interest in improving the medical services provided within its hospitals to serve patients and train medical staff on complex types of surgeries and medical services.
