In the presence of the Korean ambassador... The launch of the Korean language speaking competition at the Faculty of Al-Alsun

Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, received Mr. Hong Jin-wook, the Korean Ambassador to Cairo, the Minister Plenipotentiary, Mr. Choi Byung-soon, and the head of the Korean Cultural Center, Mr. Oh Soon-ho, prior to the opening of the activities of the fourteenth session of the Korean Speaking Competition, which is hosted by the Faculty of Al-Alsun Ain Shams University.

         
   
         

Prof. Salwa Rashad, dean of the faculty and supervisor of the department, said that the continuous cooperation between the faculty and the embassy over the years comes from the keenness of the faculty administration, in cooperation with the Korean Embassy in Cairo, to spread Korean culture among Egyptian students and raise students' awareness of Korean culture.

         
   
         

She praised the efforts of the embassy in providing competitions in addition to the books and references it provides to students of the Korean language to raise the level of quality of Korean speakers among the students of the faculty, noting that the competition until its thirteenth session in 2019 is not limited only to Egypt, but it hosted students studying the Korean language from Jordan and the Emirates, Morocco, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Kenya and many other countries; To compete with each other, displaying their skills in speaking the Korean language, but this course, and because it is the first after the Corona pandemic, was limited to students of the Korean Language Department at Ain Shams University only, but we hope that this course will be the beginning for us to launch the competition in the coming years on an international level.

         
   
         

Mr. Hong Jin wook, the Korean Ambassador to Cairo, also pointed out that the previous and continuous cooperation has borne fruit from graduates working in many Korean companies and other cultural fields that enrich the relations between the two countries.

         
     
         

The students of the department presented various presentations in the Korean language, and their topics varied between their different experiences while learning the Korean language and their various experiences that changed and influenced their lives.
