The President of Ain Shams University inaugurates the activities of the celebration of Egyptian women and the ideal mother at the university

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, inaugurated on the morning of Wednesday, March 15, the celebration of "Egyptian Women and the Ideal Mother" in the building of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center I Hub at the university under the title (She is a Pioneer), which is organized by the students of Family for Egypt Central, in the presence of Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and a group of faculty staff and students at the university.

In his speech, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, said that Egyptian women have gained many of their rights and are well-deserved, pointing out that divine religions and laws have given women their full rights, and any practices that prevent them from obtaining these rights are individual practices.

He added that women have excelled in all fields. In the industrial society, they have proven their success since the first industrial revolution, and in the scientific community, men compete strongly, indicating that 54% of the students at Ain Shams University are girls, and the faculty members are mostly female. There are also 10 Deans in the various faculties of the university, which represents a percentage of approximately 50%, also the majority of the faculties’ vice-presidents are women. This year, the first vice president of the university was appointed, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, stressing that they are well-deserved positions and we look forward to more.

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini concluded his speech by emphasizing that the university administration provides full support to women inside the university in particular and outside it in general.

Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, explained that there are many advantages related to the status of Egyptian women, some of which are related to cultural roots or by virtue of custom and laws. For example, in Upper Egypt and the Delta, which represents 60% of the Egyptian society, we find that the grandmother represents the pillar of the extended family, and the laws guarantee women distinct rights, such as the right of working women to obtain childcare leave for a period of 6 years.

In her speech, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, said that there is an integrated work team behind this huge celebration that includes many activities, which extend over two days, and the first day includes a package of activities and events that are held in parallel in each of the major conference halls of the university next to The Faculty of Pharmacy is under the title (She is...a success story), as well as the ihub building on the Tolba campus, entitled (She is...a Pioneer). The activities also include a series of seminars and awareness campaigns, in addition to workshops and an art exhibition to express women's issues.

She added that the opening of the activities was chosen from the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center as a symbol of the development witnessed by the university during the last period.

Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector at the university, said in her speech that Women's Day is an appreciation and recognition of their role as well as support for them, hoping that the day will come when women do not need this support, stressing that women are the main supporter of the family, and play many roles in society, and there is a boom in her presence at Ain Shams University, the female component in the university has become strongly present, and for the first time a vice president is appointed at Ain Shams University.

Prof. Diaa Khalil, general supervisor of the activities of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, said that Egyptian women have existed throughout history since the Pharaonic history, but there are still cultural obstacles that prevent them from obtaining their full rights, and this is observed in some social groups, and the role of the university is to combat these negative phenomena from the perspective of Social and economic, to enable women to enjoy their full rights and gains as they are half of society.

He added that there are some misconceptions about women and that they went out to work after the world wars, but the truth is that they were partners with men and helped them in agricultural societies before the industrial society.

Prof. Mohamed El-Behairy, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, indicated that 65% of the center’s employees are women, who are characterized by efficiency, stressing that women are capable of achievement and that the breadwinner is a clear example of women’s ability, but the societal view in some classes sometimes underestimates it. its turn.

He added that the university gives equal opportunities to both sexes and that the criterion is competence.

Dr. Weam Mahmoud, Deputy Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, gave a presentation on the innovation department at the university, of which the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center is one of the pillars.

She also talked about the programs and services provided by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center in partnership with a huge group of partners in the industry in various fields, pointing out that the services are provided to all university students in addition to the external community to support the national economy.

She also shed light on what women have achieved in the various activities organized by the Centre.

At the end of the opening session, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and a number of influential personalities and female entrepreneurs who graduated from distinguished programs from the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the university were honored:

This was followed by a tour of the startup fair.

The activities of the first day of the celebration of the Innovation Center also included a conversation with Ms. Rania Ismail, founder of Carerk, a conversation with Dr. Maha Fawzy, founder of 365 leading company, conversation with Ms. Reem Bernice, a lawyer and legal advisor, a conversation with Mrs. Abeer Khattab, responsible for government relations at KarmSolar, and a conversation with Mr. Sheem Al-Jabi, a traditional fashion designer and training consultant.
