Prof. Ayman Salih, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, opened, on Saturday, March 4, the activities of the annual employment Fair of Ain Shams University, which is organized by the University Employment Center under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Deputy University President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Abdul-Aziz, Director of the Employment Center.
The opening of the meeting witnessed by Dr. Tarek Abdel-Khalek, Advisor to the Minister of Planning and Supervisor of Human Resources, Prof. Reem Al-Kabariti, Director of the University's Alumni Association, Prof. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of the Career Center, and a number of deans and vice deans of faculties and faculty staff.
In his speech, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, emphasized the importance of this Fair. Which represents an opportunity for university students to communicate with employers in various disciplines to learn about the requirements of the labor market.
He called on the students to pay attention to innovation in the field of specialization, pointing out that the jobs were divided into routine and innovative jobs, and within each of them there are those who perform their work in a routine or innovative way, and in light of the economic crises, the first to be laid off are the people who perform their work in a routine way.
He added that artificial intelligence will change the shape of the labor market, and there are jobs that will be abolished, but jobs that depend on innovation cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence.
Prof. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of the Career Center at the university, confirmed that the annual employment Fair of Ain Shams University is one of the most important professional events organized by the university. It provides job and training opportunities for students and graduates of the university, giving them the opportunity to explore different fields and their requirements, and providing an opportunity to deal directly with representatives of leading international companies in various fields of the labor market.
He added that the Fair comes as a continuation of the success achieved by both the university's employment Fair, which was organized in March 2022, and the employment week that was organized in October 2022, pointing out that the Fair is held over two days, as the first day targets students and graduates of the faculties of the scientific sector from the faculties of Engineering, Computer and Information Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Science, Agriculture, and the Faculty of Girls (Department of Science).
The second day targets students and graduates of the business and human sciences sector from the faculties of Business, Al-Alsun, Arts, Law, Education, and the Faculty of Girls (Departments of Arts and Education).
The Director of the Employment Center explained that the employment Fair this year includes an integrated set of various activities, as it includes a job fair that allows participants to learn about training and employment opportunities offered by companies, as well as professional talks presented by human resources experts in various fields with the aim of introducing students and graduates of the university to the nature and scope of Career paths and building the skills needed to do certain jobs.
The fair also includes guidance and guidance circles aimed at connecting experts with university students and graduates to make their professional decisions, and technical and skill workshops by partners and experts in various fields with the aim of helping students and graduates build their professional and technical skills in several fields.
In her speech, Prof. Reem Al-Kabariti, Director of the Alumni Association, thanked the university administration for its keenness to provide a graduate that local and international companies flock to, through their awareness of the needs of the labor market and training students in their final years to keep up with those needs.
She also introduced the association and that it is the first official association of the university, and that it aims at continuous communication between the graduate and his university to continuously strengthen ties.
She also talked about the services, activities and events provided by the association, including workshops, courses, participation in the Employment Fair, organizing meetings for university graduates to talk about their journey, which gives impetus to students, including the scientist Farouk El-Baz, a graduate of the Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, and presenting stories about the success of the graduates, participation in the graduation ceremonies, announcing that the Association is about to present awards in social and professional achievements and scientific research.
It is noteworthy that the annual recruitment Fair of the university this year is attended by 57 local and international companies, and the university has invited students and graduates of colleges and majors to attend, and the priority of attendance was for students of the third and fourth years, recent graduates and graduates for the past 3 years.
