The President of Ain Shams University receives the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, received Mr. Sanjar Adilov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, and his accompanying delegation, to discuss ways of cooperation between Ain Shams University and Uzbek universities.

The meeting was witnessed by Prof. Abdel-FattahSaoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, Prof. Mohamed Rajaa Al-Satohi, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Prof. Osama Al-Buhairi, Dean of the Institute of Graduate Studies and Agricultural Research in Arid Regions, Prof. Hisham Al-Hariri, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Sherwit Al-Ahmadi, Director of the Expatriate Department at the University, Prof. Mohamed Ferjani, Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Ashraf Bakry, Head of the Biotechnology Department Dr. Hani Sorour, Head of the Chemistry Department, at the Faculty of Agriculture.

The Uzbek Deputy Minister of Agriculture expressed his happiness for the developments in the Egyptian-Uzbekistani relations, especially during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Arab Republic of Egypt these days.

   
   

Adding that there are six universities operating directly under the umbrella of the Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with the Uzbek Ministry of Higher Education, including an independent university for cotton.

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini welcomed the cooperation between Ain Shams University and the Uzbek universities, and drew his attention to the Russian language department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, which is one of the most important departments of the faculty, referring to the cooperation between the Uzbek University of Tashkent and Ain Shams University, and discussing the exchange of professors between the universities to support this cooperation and the teaching of the Uzbek and Russian languages and cooperation in the field of research, antiquities and restoration of manuscripts and museums.

The two parties agreed to use the expertise of professors of the Faculty of Agriculture and the Institute of Graduate Studies and Agricultural Research in arid regions in the field of agriculture and water desalination.
