The inauguration of the activities of the Children's University, the sixth round, at Ain Shams University

Prof. Dr. opened Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, the activities of the first day of the Children's University at Ain Shams University at the Training and Education Development Center at Ain Shams University Hospitals, which extends for two weeks from 1-28-2023 to 2-11-2023.

Prof. Muhammad Ayman Salih, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, said that the Children's University project is a pioneering initiative funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and an opportunity to attract young people to the importance of science and technological development and capacity development by integrating and teaching children to learn about different fields and sectors and exploit their passion for exploration and discovery of scientific development through visits to the various faculties of Ain Shams University, and the Children's University is distinguished by helping students to use advanced modern technology and the overlap between science and each other in order to facilitate the exchange of science, knowledge, ideas and innovations.

         
   
         

Prof. Shahira Samir Zaki, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, expressed her pride in parents for supporting their children and providing everything that helps the child in building personality, especially through a project adopted by the Academy of Scientific Research in support and cooperation with professors and universities in providing experiences and abundant knowledge for children, and it is distinguished Supporting parents to educate their children and striving to achieve the highest level of benefit for children by providing ideas, dealing with society in an appropriate manner, and developing capabilities and skills, pointing out that good preparation for our children helps them achieve their goals and dreams, and this is considered one of the most important things that parents offer to their children through their enrollment in Children University in addition to visits the different faculties of Ain Shams University.

Prof. Tamer Al-Nadi Director of grants and projects department, said that there are many workshops that are held for two weeks and events that benefit students in innovation and creativity and present their ideas and projects in a new and distinct way.

Dr. Noha Al-Rafei, Deputy Director of the Grants and Projects Department and Coordinator of the Children's University at Ain Shams University, said that the slogan of the stage is (Dream, Work, Innovate), and the main goal is to reach a person's dream and work to achieve it with development that enables innovation, creativity and excellence as the Children's University seeks to build a successful child's future, promote the concept of citizenship and belonging to the homeland, and acquire knowledge to develop the child's personality. It also seeks to provide technical support and invest children in making the future. She also indicated that with the efforts of the Grants and Projects Management Team, the team was entrusted with the financial, technical and administrative supervision of coordinating and implementing the activities of the Children's University.

         
   
         

A video was presented to the "Young Egyptian Climate Ambassadors Team", which won first place in the Sustainable Communities Competition. It is a project for the children of the Children's University at Ain Shams University. Dr. Noha Al-Rafei, talked about the project that aimed to raise community awareness of sustainable development and the effects of climate change, so the children played the role of climate ambassadors and presented awareness sessions in schools and clubs and made illustrative models and simplified videos, as well as a video of their project was shown in the activities of the COP27 conference in the blue area.

Today witnessed the launch of the sixth phase, which includes about 80 children, ranging in age from 9 to 12 years. The activities include many scientific workshops taught by students during the two-week period, in coordination with the Faculties involved in that (Faculty of Specific Education - Faculty of Nursing - Faculty of Engineering - Faculty of Science - Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center - Faculty of Pharmacy - Faculty of Archeology - Faculty of Medicine - Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences- Faculty of Environmental Studies and Research) in addition to external visits.

At the end of the course, the children make graduation projects and are awarded certificates accredited by Ain Shams University, based on the university's interest in helping children discover everything new.

         
   
         

Then some of the coordinators and organizers of the various Faculties presented a presentation of the activities and events that will be implemented during the activities of the Children's University at Ain Shams University, and they are: Faculty of Specific Education: Prof. Amani Hanafi, Professor of Arabic Music, Faculty of Specific Education, Faculty of Engineering: Prof. Ali Al-Bahrawi, a professor at the Hydraulics Department. Dr. Adel El Shabasi, Professor of Production Engineering, Faculty of Science: Dr. Islam Adly Lecturer, Department of Entomology, Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Dr. Weam Mahmoud, Deputy Director of the Center, Faculty of Pharmacy: Dr. Salma Sameh, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Medicine: Dr. Hadeer Al-Mahdi, Assistant Lecturer of Public Health, Faculty of Computers and Information: Prof. Tamer Mostafa, Assistant Professor, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The opening ceremony was attended by a group of university leaders, deans, vice-rectors, faculty members and guests, in addition to children and parents.

The opening ceremony was followed by several lectures by a group of specialized professors, namely: Dr. Ehab Mohamed Eid, Professor of Public Health and Behavioral Medicine and Head of the Medical Studies Department at the Faculty of Childhood Studies, and Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Mukhtar, "a trainer and regional referee in debate programs at the British Council", Dr. Sheren Louis Jaber is a "psychological and educational consultant". The lectures dealt with the areas of raising children, positive education, how to modify their behavior, accept differences, and how to deal with children's excellence and creativity.
