The role of the Financial Supervisory Authority in preventing and prosecuting financial deviation. Seminar at the Faculty of Business

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Khaled Kadri, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hiyam Wahba, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Coordinator of Ain Shams University for the Global Initiative to Combat Corruption in the Field of Education and Youth Empowerment, the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University, organized a symposium entitled: (The Role of the Financial Supervisory Authority in Preventing and prosecuting financial deviation, which Prof. Dr. Khaled Sari Siam, member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Supervisory Authority and former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Stock Exchange, gave a lecture, in which he noted that the year 2022 marks the beginning of efforts to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the United Nations Convention against Corruption and the launch of the third phase of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2023- 2030.

         
   
         

His Excellency also reviewed forms of financial deviation and corruption, the roles of oversight bodies in Egypt, how to address such deviations, and the negative effects of corruption on all aspects of society, as it is closely intertwined with conflicts and unrest that threaten social and economic development. Reducing financial corruption, enhancing transparency, and strengthening institutions are One of the contents of the sustainable development goals represented in Goal No. (16), his Excellency stressed the responsibility of the four scientific disciplines of the Faculty of Business in reducing financial and administrative corruption in society. Dr. Khaled Kadri, Dean of the Faculty, that this symposium is within the framework of the university's celebrations of International Anti-Corruption Day (December 9). His Excellency extended his greetings and appreciation to Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, and all the Vice-Presidents of the University, for their sponsorship of these seminars.

As confirmed by Prof. Dr. Hayam Wehbe, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Coordinator of Ain Shams University for the Global Initiative to Combat Corruption in the Field of Education and Youth Empowerment, this symposium is one of the symposia that aims to spread awareness of how to combat corruption and the role of oversight bodies, which will continue its activities during the current month of December until July 2023 with the aim of increasing awareness among all classes of the university of the damages of financial and administrative corruption to Egyptian society.

And a large crowd of students in different teams and people were keen to attend the symposium and interacted with it with special questions. At the end of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Khaled Kadri, Dean of the Faculty, honored Prof. Dr. Khaled Serry Siam, with the Faculty Shield, in appreciation of the sons of Egypt who struggle for justice.
