The Faculty of Law holds an introductory seminar on the presidential initiative "A Decent Life"

On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University organized an awareness seminar on the presidential initiative, a decent life, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty and Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shafei, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, opened the symposium, where Prof. Dr. Muhammad Safi explained the importance of the presidential initiative, a decent life, in providing a helping hand to the weak and marginalized groups in society, especially in the villages and favelas of Egypt and slums, and that this initiative is a kind of positive discrimination necessary to achieve social and economic balance throughout society. The Dean of the Faculty also praised the services and assistance provided by the initiative since its establishment in 2019 under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

On his part, Dr. Ahmed Arafa, coordinator of the Decent Life Initiative, reviewed its inception and development, and explained the most important areas and activities of the initiative and the services it provides as a development project covering all parts of the Republic, with a focus on villages and slums.

On the other hand, Mr. Ahmed Farghali, one of the coordinators of the initiative, highlighted one of the most important forms of assistance and services provided by the initiative to improve the quality of life and improve the livelihood of 58 million citizens, including the development of sewage, electricity, gas and roads networks, lining the canals of villages, training young people to establish work projects, running medical convoys in villages, neighborhoods and remote areas, providing free medicines and performing surgeries For patients free of charge, decent housing, and opening educational libraries, noting that the state has allocated nearly 800 billion pounds to finance the services and activities of the initiative, targeting 85% of Egypt's population, with a total of 175 centers and 4,584 villages.

At the end of the symposium, Dr. Mohamed El-Shafei, thanked the coordinators of the Decent Life Initiative, for their efforts and urged the students present to participate and volunteer in the initiative. He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between those in charge of the initiative and the Faculty of Law to work together to serve the Egyptian society and improve the lives of citizens in order to achieve Egypt’s 2030 strategy.
