The UNESCO Club of Ain Shams Education organizes a consultative meeting for green urbanization and training workshops for the coordinators of UNESCO clubs at the level of the Republic

Sponsored by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashed, Dean of the Faculty, and Professor Dr. Alaeddin Abdel Halim, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, the UNESCO Club at the Faculty organized a meeting with UNESCO clubs at the level of the Republic.

In the presence of Dr. Walaa Mohamed Shawky from the UNESCO Regional Office in Cairo, and in coordination and organization of the meeting from Prof. Dr. Farea Hassan Mohamed, the coordinator of the UNESCO Club at the Faculty. The meeting began with a speech by Prof. Dr. Farea, in which she welcomed all the guests from the UNESCO clubs nationwide and representatives of the UNESCO office in Cairo. She thanked and appreciated the college administration for supporting the cultural awareness activities of the club. Professor Dr. Alaeddin Abdel Halim Farag Wakil presented the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development delivered his speech in which he welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of culture and knowledge in rooting thought for young people, the importance of intergenerational communication in this regard and the importance of sustainable green thought.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Rashad, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, gave his speech expressing the history of the establishment of the UNESCO Club and its original role in consolidating culture and knowledge. Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashid, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed all guests.

Then, Dr. Walaa Mohamed Shawky from the UNESCO Regional Office in Cairo gave a presentation on the "Education and Water Project from the Perspective of Education for Sustainable Development", in which she introduced the UNESCO Regional Office, the objectives it works for, and the projects it implements, the most important of which is the "Education and Water Project".

In her presentation, she emphasized the most important challenges facing them in the implementation of this large project, which is how to reach increased awareness among children and youth of the importance of managing water resources in accordance with the concept of sustainability, and that this is the responsibility of everyone. A work done by Dr. Saber Farouk, a teacher of mental health in the faculty, was based on the most important behavioral problems of students and methods of dealing with them. All attendees interacted with all the points raised in the workshop due to their importance.

         
   
         

In the second part of the meeting, Dr. Azza Khalil Ismail discussed in her workshop with the attendees the close relationship between the “Get Green” initiative sponsored by the President and the education and water project, given that water is the most important natural resource at all, which included the goals of the “Get Green” initiative and The importance of developing awareness and increasing awareness among young people and children, the danger of water pollution, the concepts of virtual water and the water footprint, in addition to focusing on the seriousness and package of negative practices of water consumption and the importance of adopting positive practices, then Her Excellency explained the efforts of the Egyptian state to conserve water and referred to some of the activities of the education and water project, Dr. Mohamed Behairy, the coordinator of the UNESCO Club in Dakahlia Governorate, was invited to talk about the activities and festivals that were implemented in the governorate to raise awareness of the importance of positive practices for dealing with water.

At the end of the activities, an innovative group activity was implemented as a model for the activities that were implemented, and it had a positive impact on children and youth from UNESCO clubs at the level of the Republic.

At the end of the cultural day of the UNESCO clubs in the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, many memorial photos were taken, and many recommendations were made that emphasized the need for everyone to unite in order to preserve the environment as an imperative for sustainable development in order to advance our children to achieve the vision of our beloved Egypt 2030.
