Ain Shams University wins first place in the national initiative for smart green projects in the governorates of Greater Cairo

As part of Egypt’s preparations to host the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Climate Change Convention COP 27, which will be held next November in Sharm El Sheikh, Cairo Governorate held a conference to announce the winning projects in the Greater Cairo Region (Cairo, Giza and Qalyubia) in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, which was organized under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah Sisi, President of the Republic, in the presence of Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, Major General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, Major General Abdel Hamid El Hagan, Governor of Qalyubia, Ambassador Hisham Badr, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and General Coordinator of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, and Eng. Khaled Mustafa, Permanent Representative of the Ministry of Planning and General Supervisor of the Egypt Award for Excellence governmental.

The project of the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, for converting and testing a passenger car powered by an internal combustion engine into an electric car, won first place in the medium projects category from Cairo Governorate, and the Shams B Green project submitted by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research at Ain Shams University won first place in the projects category. development of women.

In his speech, the Governor of Cairo extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for launching this national initiative for green projects. He also thanked the Prime Minister for his sponsorship of the initiative.

In his speech, Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, stressed that he is pleased to welcome the attendees on the land of Cairo Governorate and to participate with them today in the conference announcing the winning projects in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects at the level of Greater Cairo (Cairo, Giza and Qalyubia), to honor those in charge of these projects with a total of 18 A project by 6 projects for each governorate.

         
   
         

The Governor of Cairo added that the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects is an unprecedented initiative and an expression of the sincere vision to achieve Egypt’s goals for sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030, which President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the President of the Republic to achieve development in its comprehensive content, which seeks to raise growth rates and provide more job opportunities, taking into account the Consider protecting the environment, improving the quality of work, observing the rights of future generations, and making full use of the available resources.

The Governor of Cairo praised all the winning projects within the framework of the initiative, which can play a role in light of climate changes and their influential economic and industrial repercussions that affect all countries, including Egypt.

With great effectiveness in the initiative, the projects submitted amounted to 949 diverse projects, of which 365 are complete projects that meet all the criteria of the initiative. Thanks to the distinguished youth of Cairo and to everyone who participated and contributed a new idea to the success of this initiative. He extended thanks and appreciation to each of the Ministries of Local Development, Environment, Planning and Economic Development, and Foreign Affairs and the arbitration committees for their efforts in support of the success of the initiative.
