Hematology Conference recommends expanding the establishment of marrow transplant units to eliminate waiting lists

The activities of the tenth annual international conference of the Egyptian Society of Hematology and Marrow Transplantation of the Hematology and Marrow Transplant Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, which was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Awad Tag al-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health, and Prof. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University. The conference came out with many recommendations, including the need to expand bone marrow transplants and overcome difficulties to facilitate procedures and eliminate waiting lists, with attention to cases Blood diseases, whether benign or malignant, and providing the latest treatment methods.

The conference also recommended educating the Egyptian community about the importance of hematology, which is a delicate specialty that affects all other body systems, and the necessity of scientific exchange with abroad, and raising the awareness of researchers, which will benefit patients.

It was also recommended to expand the establishment of bone marrow transplant units to eliminate waiting lists and prevent patient accumulation, according to the presidential initiative.

It is noteworthy that the tenth annual international conference of the Egyptian Society of Hematology and Marrow Transplantation was inaugurated by a. Dr.. Muhammad Awad Taj al-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, in the presence of a. Dr.. Osama Mansour, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, and a. Dr.. Nevin Nabil Mustafa, Professor of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, President of the Conference, and Prof. Dr.. Hussein Khaled, former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, former President of Cairo University, and Prof. Dr.. Essam Abdel Wahed, Head of the Department of Hematology and Marrow Transplantation, Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr.. Mohamed Moussa, Professor of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at Ain Shams Medicine, and a group of professors and consultants from various Egyptian universities and doctors from different countries of the world, including England, the United States of America, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

The conference witnessed the participation of 16 international doctors, in addition to a selection of consultants and professors of hematology from the universities of Ain Shams, Cairo, Mansoura, Menoufia, Alexandria, Tanta, Sohag, Assiut, Suez Canal, the National Cancer Institute, Nasser and Sheikh Zayed Specialized Institute, in addition to participation from Hospital Maadi Military, Police Hospital and International Medical Center, as well as participants from different countries from England, the United States of America and the Arab countries from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
