The Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Studies launches a practical course from Shaq Al-Thuban Industrial City

In the context of the continuous efforts of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research at Ain Shams University, which serves society and sustainable development in connection with the environmental efforts of Ain Shams University in preparation for the Cop 27 Conference of Parties, the Faculty’s management holds the applied session for 2022, which gave its opening speech from the ground in the industrial city for the marble industry And Granite (Shaq Al-Thu'ban Industrial City) Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Noha Samir Donia, in conjunction with the Head of the Marble and Granite Industry Division, Prof. Mohamed Aref Chamber of Commerce in Cairo Governorate.

         
   
         

Shaq Al Taban Industrial City contains 3,500 factories of different factories for the manufacture of marble, granite and industrial supplies that serve this vital industry.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Noha Samir Donia confirmed the keenness of the faculty administration to follow up on the field sources of pollution in this important industrial area, which is in the heart of Greater Cairo, where there are serious risks that must be paid attention to through the societal role played by the faculty and it is no secret to anyone that the spread of dust and fine particles that affect the health of People and people in this area.

         
     
         

She explained that during the fifteen-day session, environmental monitoring and evaluation of the environmental impacts resulting from the activities of these factories, as well as identifying the environmental problems that can help the faculty from environmental expertise and consultations free of charge to the owners of these factories and pushing it towards the green industry, where he learned the management of The faculty is well aware of this thorny issue and it is necessary to assist in transforming this area into a green industrial area and transforming it from a source of pollution into an area that attracts green investment.

She added that this field visit is part of a set of procedures and other activities carried out by the faculty on its way to a vital crossing that serves the university's goals towards preparing for the upcoming Conference of Parties Sharm El-Sheikh No. 27. Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and in the presence of the Vice Dean for Higher Affairs and Scientific Research, Prof. Reham Refaat, and the technical coordinator of the course, Dr. Ahmed Maher.
