A workshop on raising energy efficiency project in Egyptian universities at the headquarters of the National Committee for Education, Science and Culture

On Monday, May 9, the activities of the workshop for the project “Raising Energy Efficiency in Egyptian Universities” were launched at the headquarters of the National Committee for Education, Science and Culture. And appreciation to all of them. He also thanked the professors who are experts in energy and representatives of the Egyptian universities that are members of the Supreme Council of Universities.

He also welcomed the representatives of the German Development and Reconstruction Bank (KfW) and the Director of Gopa Infra Mr. Mathias Lueg and Head of the Task Force Mr. Karl Rechthaler, and Prof. Dr. Hani Al-Ghazali Deputy Head of the Task Force.

His Excellency stressed that the Supreme Council of Universities is the main supporter of this project, which will benefit the universities in which the project will be implemented.

In her speech, Prof. Dr. Ghada Mohamed Bassiouni, Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University and Director of the Project Management Unit PIU, welcomed the attendees and thanked Prof. Dr. Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities for the support the unit receives from his Excellency.

She also thanked the representatives of the German Development and Reconstruction Bank KfW, as well as members of Gopa Infra, the consulting company that will undertake the tasks of implementing the project in Egyptian universities.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Latif valued the role of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sameh Amr, professor of international law, and the professors who are members in the Technical Committee for their unrequited effort in the careful review of the evaluation of the international tender for the selection of the consultant.

He also honored them and presented them with certificates of appreciation and shields by the Supreme Council of Universities, and they are:

- Prof. Dr. Salem Mahmoud Salem Al-Khodari, Professor of Power Engineering - Faculty of Engineering - Ain Shams University, and currently Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Al-Nahda University.

- Prof. Dr. Mohamed Moamen Gamal El-Din Afifi Mohamed, Professor of Architectural Design - Faculty of Engineering - Cairo University.

- Prof. Dr. Yasser Mansour, Professor of Architectural Design, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University.

It is worth noting that the workshop witnessed the signing ceremony of the contract between the Supreme Council of Universities and the consulting company executing the project.
