A workshop to train female students at the Faculty of Girls on handicrafts

Within the framework of the keenness of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at Ain Shams University to spread awareness of handicrafts, the sector organized a workshop to train female students at the Faculty of Girls on the basics of crochet, in cooperation with the Solidarity Unit at the university and the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Girls, under the auspices of Dr. Neven Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Salah Hashem, Advisor to the Minister of Solidarity, and Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef Dean of the Faculty of Girls, and Protocol Coordinator Prof. Dr. Gehan Ragab, Professor of Marketing at the Faculty of Commerce and Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Girls for Community Service and Environmental Development, on Tuesday, March 29, for a period of three days, and the workshop was concluded Implementation of several products that can be marketed as a start for a small project for students.

         
   
         

This workshop came within the framework of the keenness of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Ain Shams University to support and develop traditional handicrafts, as part of the implementation of the State Strategy 2030, which aims to support craft arts and encourage young people to learn high-end crafts and arts, giving them many opportunities to establish small projects.

The students were trained by Dr. Heba Zakaria, a teacher of clothing and textiles in the Department of Home Economics, Faculty of Girls. The workshop was organized by Ms. Reham Abdel Rahman, Coordinator of the Solidarity Unit at the university, and Ms. Nesma Al-Qasbagi, Social Protection and Economic Empowerment Officer, Solidarity Unit at the university.
