The Minister of Higher Education, and the President of Ain Shams University inaugurate the first center for innovation and entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, inaugurated today, Monday morning, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the university, i hub, in the presence of Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, and Major General Ihab El-Far, head of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, at the university’s student city headquarters.

The Minister praised the center, which is an addition to the efforts of the higher education system to support the idea of entrepreneurship and encourage innovators among university students, and to provide a platform that absorbs the energies of young people, discover their talents, refine them, nurture and direct them in the right path that serves the locomotive of national development, and the Minister pointed out the importance of the field of innovation and entrepreneurship in the era He pointed to the tendency of universities to implement entrepreneurship centers as part of their role in qualifying young people for the labor market and helping them start small, medium and micro projects after graduation because of the importance of these projects to the modern economy.

         
   
         

The minister stressed the qualification of young students and researchers to participate in international competitions in the field of innovation, stressing the ministry’s care and interest in the outputs of scientific research and innovations carried out by young students and researchers and working to convert them into products and industrial models that can be applied and marketed.

He referred to the role of the Fund for Innovators and Geniuses, which was established by the Ministry with sustainable support to finance and sponsor young people's ideas and innovations, and to support talents and innovators.

The Minister congratulated Ain Shams University for the achievement of this distinguished project, which is a strong and effective link between the field of education, training and academic research on the one hand, and the field of industry, services and businessmen on the other hand, and providing the opportunity for university youth to communicate with the business sector in advance of an invitation to workers in the industrial and private sectors to give confidence and financial support to young ideas produced by researchers and alumni students

Dr. Abdul Ghaffar stressed the continuation to raise the structure of academic institutions and rehabilitate them with the necessary capabilities to spread the idea of entrepreneurship among university students and discover and support innovators and entrepreneurs

         
   
         

On his part, Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini indicated that the center is considered the first at the level of Egyptian public universities for innovation and entrepreneurship and was established in partnership with the Central Bank, represented by the Nile Pioneers Initiative, on an area of ​​8,000 square meters, equipped with the latest advanced technologies, and aims to serve all Ain Shams University affiliates and entrepreneurs and support them for innovation And coming out with their ideas and innovations to the world and serving the Egyptian community, adding that the center includes several centers for employment, training and skills development for faculty members to give them more skills, in addition to discussion rooms, and idea incubators, and it is highly equipped, according to the latest international standards, thanking the Central Bank for its support for this project.

For his part, Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, congratulated Ain Shams University for the implementation of this distinguished project, expressing his wishes that the results of the project would result in successful works that benefit the development of the surrounding environment and contribute to the development of society.
