Ambassador Mohamed Al-Orabi speaks about the prospects for Egyptian-Asian relations at the Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, hosted His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Al-Orabi, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, speaking at a symposium entitled "Prospects for Egyptian-Asian Relations", under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and supervised by Prof. Dr. Rania Fawzy, Head of Oriental Languages ​​Department, and moderated the meeting Dr. Saeed Al-Sabbagh, assistant professor in the department and supervisor of cultural activities, in the presence of students of the Department of Oriental Languages.

His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Al-Orabi, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, stressed that the role of the Foreign Ministry around the world is to defend the interests of the country and the Egyptian national security, and to monitor any threats related to the security and stability of the country against any foreign party, and that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs always plays the role of the national struggle for the benefit of its people, explaining that the Ministry has An important role in supporting the state.

Regarding the Egyptian-Asian relations, His Excellency referred to the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in developing relations with the rest of Central Asian countries, as Egypt offered many educational grants to students in higher and Azhar education, in addition to grants in the fields of development through the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development for these countries.

His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Al-Orabi, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that political science has changed in the era of the Corona pandemic, and it has three determinants: self-strength, confidence and leadership, adding: If we look at the initiative of a decent life and what is happening now inside Egypt, we will see a practical application of this theory.

His Eminence added that Egypt enjoys self-power emanating from within, and from its positions it imposed on the world, and has confidence in progress and moving forward with steady steps, and has leadership in its strategic surroundings.

His Excellency also stressed that Egypt is a well-established country and that what Egypt is doing is a new strategy in the strategic environment in which it lives, adding that the state is working on peace, stability and development in its surroundings, to ensure itself to live in safety and continue development.

Among the most important challenges facing the new republic are cross-border dangers, on top of which are terrorism, climate changes, epidemics and modern wars in their fourth and fifth generations, pointing out that there are three principles governing the new republic for a period of 10 years, namely stability, peace and development.

On the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Al-Orabi affirmed that it will have an impact on the whole world and that Russia has deviated from the international pattern due to the military operations in Ukraine, and that Western countries will remain far from Moscow.

His Excellency also indicated that the world will witness a conflict between Russia and the West during the coming period, and Moscow will feel some weakness as a result of various sanctions and attempts to isolate it, which will represent a loss for one of the strong balances in international relations, pointing out that Russia's political role will diminish in return for Western supremacy.

On March 15 of each year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs celebrates the Egyptian Diplomacy Day, which this year coincides with the centenary of the re-work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1922, following its suspension following the announcement of the British protectorate over Egypt in 1914.

At the end of the meeting, the door was opened for questions and discussion, which witnessed a great interaction between His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Al-Orabi and the students of the Department of Oriental Languages.
