Drafting patents...a workshop at the Faculty of Pharmacy

Within the framework of the cooperation between the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ain Shams University and the Egyptian Patent Office, and in the interest of the faculty to develop the skills of faculty members and transform research and innovations into products to serve society and companies, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud and Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of a. M. Dr. Maha Nasr, Director of the Department of International Relations and Academic Cooperation at the Faculty, Dr. John Josiah, Coordinator of the Patent Office at the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty organized the first workshop on "Patent Drafting", during which Dr. Eman Saleh, Vice President of the Egyptian Patent Office, in the main discussion hall of the Faculty, in the presence of a number of faculty members from various departments

The workshop dealt with practical applications of how to apply for patents and the benefits that these patents accrue to researchers and universities. It also dealt with various protection systems, including international protection for inventions, and databases that can be used to view granted patents, and included open discussions with attendees to answer their inquiries.
