Ain Shams University is witnessing the first meeting of the Greater Cairo Universities gathering for community service and environmental development

Within the framework of the directions of the Supreme Council for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs in exchanging experiences and joint cooperation, it was approved to establish integration between Egyptian universities in community service and environmental development.

The first meeting of the Greater Cairo Universities (Ain Shams University, Al-Azhar University, Cairo University, Helwan University, Fayoum University, Beni Suef University) was held in Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Development Affairs The environment, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Gehan Ragab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Sana Mohamed Hegazy, Coordinator of Helwan University, Prof. Dr. Hala Afifi, Coordinator of Cairo University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Allam, Coordinator of Beni Suef University, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hamzawy, Coordinator of Fayoum University .

         
   
         

During the meeting, Prof. Gehan Ragab was chosen as coordinator of the Greater Cairo Region for the first session.

It was also agreed at the meeting to sign a joint cooperation protocol between the universities, participation in presidential initiatives, the participation of students, researchers and alumni in events, activities and community participation, establishing an environmental magazine, organizing Earth Week, exchanging visits between representatives and coordinators for community service and environmental development, and setting a future plan. It is worth noting that the idea of ​​creating integrative clusters between geographically close Egyptian universities emerged from the Supreme Council of Universities through keenness to consolidate community relations and serve the converged environment, and in a manner that contributes to achieving the general objectives of the community service sector and environmental development and creating broader goals and axes of interest, in order to exchange Experiences and joint cooperation in implementing initiatives and activities that benefit and develop the surrounding community and work on developing the environment, thus making universities a source of development and a catalyst for development and progress.
