Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the university, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rola Melad Labib, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the faculty organized the second seminar of the cultural season held by the Faculty, which was titled "Conservation Culture... Concepts and Principles", during which Prof. Dr.. Hussam El-Din Hassan Al-Barambali, Professor of Maintenance at the Faculty of Engineering, an international expert for the maintenance and operation of buildings, Chairman of the Committee for Setting Foundations and Standards for Restoration and Maintenance, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Arab and Maintenance Council.
At the beginning of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, expressed her happiness at the symposium, and welcomed Prof. Dr. Hossam El-Din Al-Barambali and his contribution to changing the destinations of the Faculty of Pharmacy, stressing the importance of the symposium and its role in public awareness among faculty members, staff and technicians in the Faculty about maintenance, concepts, rules and restoration of facilities and units, which contributes to raising the efficiency of the facility and the faculty in general.
During the seminar, Prof. Dr. Hossam El Din Al Barambali referred to maintenance, its concepts and its importance to preserve buildings and facilities for their continuity and sustainability, and dealing with them as a human body that always needs attention.
Prof. Dr. Hossam Al-Barambali talked about the nature of maintenance for facilities and the basics of maintenance and how to manage maintenance contracts for non-engineers and technicians, facility maintenance management, planning and control of maintenance costs, taking into account achieving a balance between the return from establishing the system and its costs, how to develop simplified plans for facilities maintenance and follow-up.
He also stressed that preventive maintenance is better than corrective maintenance and the need to be aware of the different types of maintenance, including periodic maintenance, secondary and preventive maintenance, rationalization maintenance, and finally, green smart maintenance, an innovative model that relies on the smile of the smiling person to provide adequate energy and lighting for the place or building.
It is worth noting that Prof. Dr. Amani Osama, Dean of the Faculty, honored Prof. Dr. Hossam Al-Barambali and gifting him a certificate of honor, in the presence of faculty staff, employee and technicians at the faculty.
