Aya Hesham, President of the Student Union of Ain Shams University for the academic year 2021/2022

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, announced the Higher Committee to supervise the student union elections headed by Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, formed the University Students’ Union for the 2021/2022 academic year, where student Aya Hisham Saeed at the Faculty of Education was elected president of the union and Abdullah Muhammad at the Faculty of Commerce as Vice President of the University Students’ Union.

This came in the presence of members of the Higher Committee for Supervising the Elections, which included in its membership: Prof. Dr. Hesham Al-Hariri, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tamer Rady, professor at the Faculty of Business and the university's liaison officer, Mr. Muhammad Al-Khatib, Assistant Secretary for Education and Student Affairs, Mr. Ibrahim Saeed, Acting Director General of University Cities, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Malik, Director General of Legal Affairs, student Mustafa Rayan in the fourth year of the Faculty of Business, and the student Omnia Ashraf in the third year of the Faculty of Business.

During his speech, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Fattah Saoud for students, stressed that the electoral race does not have a winner or a loser, but participation is the gain, pointing out that the democratic experience of university students has witnessed a great maturity that reflects the awareness of students and their awareness of their role in public work and serving their fellow students.

He added that Ain Shams University is a serious university in all fields, which places the burden and responsibility on its new student union, telling them that you have a very big responsibility because you represent the only Egyptian university that has five stars in the QS stars evaluation.

He explained that channels of direct and upscale dialogue have been opened between students and the higher management of the university, stressing the need for the members of the new union to be aware of all the development and efficiency that the university has witnessed.

His Excellency praised the former union and the interactive ground it achieved among students at the highest level, which makes the new union greater responsibility because the previous union for them was a role model.

He pointed out that the role of the higher management of the university, the education sector and students in its entirety is the role of parental guidance because we are partners in success.

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud praised the efforts of the Supreme Committee for Supervising the Elections and the General Administration for Youth Welfare in all its departments, to produce student elections in a decent democratic manner.

Prof. Dr. Taya Abdel Latif, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Student Activities and Advisor to the Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, said that this union comes on top of student activities among Egyptian universities, which places great responsibility on the new union.

The committees of the new union were as follows:

Social Committee and Senior Trips: Alaa El-Din Osama, Faculty of Specific Education, Secretary of the Committee, and Muhammad Ramadan Muhammad, Faculty of Arts, Assistant Secretary of the Committee.

The Higher Scientific Committee: Saeed Muhammad Saeed, Faculty of Science, the Secretary of the Committee and the Deputy Secretary of the Committee, Muhammad Saeed, on Dentistry.

Higher Student Families Committee: Abdul Rahman Khalid Faculty of Business Secretary of the Committee, and Assistant Secretary Ahmed Khalid Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences.

The Higher Sports Committee: Muhammad Guma'a Alwan, Faculty of Engineering, Secretary of the Committee, and Assistant Secretary Youssef Essam Mahmoud, Faculty of Al-Alsun.

The Higher Cultural and Media Committee: Secretary of the Committee Abdul Rahman Ali Sayed, Faculty of Agriculture, and Assistant Secretary Hisham Ahmed Hindawi, Faculty of Law.

Higher Technical Committee: Committee Secretary Menna Allah Amin Fathi, Faculty of Law, and Assistant Secretary Ahmed Ali, Faculty of Agriculture.

The Scout Committee and the Higher Public Service: The Secretary of the Committee, Abdul Rahman Abdel Moneim, Faculty of Business, and the Assistant Secretary, Moamen Mamdouh, Faculty of Specific Education.

The student, Esraa Mustafa Odeh, from the Faculty of Business was also elected, representing the students of determination.
