Two Egyptian researchers of Ain Shams and Cairo Universities are on the list of the 10 most influential Arab authors according to the Arcif report

Two researchers from the Arab Republic of Egypt achieved advanced ranks among Arab researchers in the field of media and communication, and they came among the list of the 10 most influential authors in the field of media and communication sciences in the Arab world, according to the 2021 annual report of the impact factor and reference citations for Arab scientific journals (Arcif).

Where Prof. Dr. Heba Amin Ahmed Shaheen, Ain Shams University (Egypt), and Prof. Dr. Sherif Darwish Al-Labban, Cairo University (Egypt) ranked 8th on the list.

The "Arcif 2021" report, the indicator of Arab scientific production and content in scientific journals, indicated that "the 10 most influential and cited authors for their works in the field of media and communication belong to 8 Arab countries: The United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Palestine, Algeria, and Iraq.

The report indicated that "the 10 authors topped the list of authors cited for their Arab scientific production in the field of media and communication, numbering more than 1,400 authors."

Prof. Dr. Sami Al-Khaznadar, head of “ARCIF” initiative, stated that the scientific teams of “ARCIF factor” examined the scientific and research production of 196,000 Arab authors, whose works were published through 504,000 scientific and research articles, in various academic disciplines, and the number of authors reached Their articles cited by 30,700 authors.

It is worth noting that the “ARCIF” impact factor, which was established in 2013, measures the relative importance of refereed scientific journals, within their field of knowledge, based on 32 international standards, which are then applied to about 5100 Arab scientific and research journals, issued by more than 1,400 bodies. Scientific and research papers are distributed over 27 Arab and foreign countries in which scientific and research journals are published in Arabic, including: Britain, Holland, Turkey, Malaysia, India, Pakistan and others.

Among them, he succeeded in the "Arcif 2021" report (877) magazines, in achieving the 32 standards that are compatible with international standards, which are approved by the "Arcif" impact factor for magazines.

As for the criteria for selecting the most influential Arab authors, Prof. Dr. Al-Khaznadar pointed out that "Arcif Report 2021" adopted additional, new and more comprehensive criteria than its predecessors in this field, which were based on data resulting from a large and qualitative survey of Arab scientific production for researchers in the Arab world.

Dr. Al-Khaznadar explained the criteria adopted for selecting the most influential Arab authors, including the total number of citations obtained by the author, as well as the number and distribution of countries (geographical scope) for researchers citing the author's articles; Also the number of author's self-citations, and finally the criterion for the number of articles published by the author in journals accredited in "Arcif".

The list of the 10 most influential Arab authors in the field of media and communication, among 1,400 authors whose scientific production was cited, included:

Abdul-Karim Ali Gabr Al-Dubaisi, University of Petra (Jordan) ranked first, followed by Abdul-Sadik Hassan Abdul-Sadik Al-Shaker, Al-Ahlia University (Bahrain) in second place, Zuhair Abdul-Latif Abed Abed, Al-Aqsa University (Palestine) third, and Bushra Jamil Ismail Al-Rawi, The University of Baghdad (Iraq) fourth, and Nayef Thunayan Muhammad Al Saud, King Saud University (Saudi Arabia) ranked fifth.

Ahmed Farouk Radwan Diab and Nasr El-Din Layadi from the University of Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) ranked sixth, while Heba Amin Ahmed Shaheen, Ain Shams University (Egypt), and Elaraby Bouamama, Abdel Hamid Ben Badis University - Mostaganem (Algeria), and Sherif Darwish Al-Labban, Cairo University (Egypt) ranked eighth.

The names of the authors show that two researchers were able to occupy a position among the list of the 10 most influential authors in the field of media and communication.

Arcif provides the data of the most influential Arab authors and researchers through an "advanced digital platform", which allows access to many different standards and reports related to this data, via the electronic link

It is noteworthy that the "Arcif" factor are under the supervision of a scientific committee and a "Supervisory and Coordination Council", which includes representatives of "UNESCO", the "United Nations Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Association of World Specialized Libraries." The Knowledge Base, as well as experts and academics from several Arab and foreign countries.
