Interdisciplinary English Studies Program at the Faculty of Arts

The Department of "English Language and Literature" at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, launched, during the academic year 2021/2022, a special program for teaching interdisciplinary English studies, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sherine Mazloum, former head of the department and vice dean for graduate studies and research.

The program gives its students the ability to analyze and think critically through artistic, cultural and scientific interaction to develop students’ awareness of the changes in the labor market and the associated integration into work groups and the development of cultural skills, especially those related to artistic appreciation, music and plastic arts.

Graduates of the program also enjoy many job opportunities in various fields such as: media, tourism guidance, human development, visual arts and hospitality.

Acceptance conditions include:

• Nomination from the Coordination Office of the Egyptian General Secondary School and its equivalent, a literary and scientific division, to the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, or one of the Egyptian faculties of Arts.

• Enrollment in this program is allowed for Egyptian and expatriate students who have a high school diploma, literary and scientific division from the Expatriates Department.
