The Supreme Council of University Hospitals launches the "Intact Foot" initiative to provide free treatment for diabetic foot patients who are unable to

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chairman of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, received a report from Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Secretary of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, regarding the launch of the “Intact Foot” initiative by the Supreme Council of Hospitals to support diabetic foot patients who are unable, by equipping specialized rooms to provide free treatment to patients in 14 university hospitals across the Republic, in cooperation with the “life Makers for Development” Foundation. This is within the framework of the presidential initiative "hayakarima", which was launched under the auspices of the Council of Ministers.

The "Intact Foot" initiative aims to provide free, quality medical services to patients with "diabetic foot" who are unable to enhance the ability to protect patients from foot amputation, as well as organize extensive campaigns to raise awareness of ways to prevent diabetic foot infection and protect against diabetic foot amputation.

In this context, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, signed a cooperation protocol with Mr. Mustafa Zamzam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of “life Makers for Development” Foundation, in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Shaaban, member of the Supreme Medical Committee in the Council of Ministers and a member of the Advisory Board of “life Makers for Development” Foundation.

It is worth noting that in Egypt there are about 9 million citizens with diabetes, and about 10% of them are exposed to amputation due to complications of the diabetic foot, and because the global treatment that was recently discovered and works to protect against diabetic foot amputation is very expensive and represents a severe burden on diabetic foot patients who are unable to, The initiative will work to provide this treatment free of charge to those who are unable.
