Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Osama El-Sayed Mustafa, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, and Prof. Dr. Amr Khalil, Vice Dean of Community Service and Environmental Development, under the supervision of Dr. Abdul Rahman Shawqi, Director of the Literacy Unit at the Faculty of Specific Education, Ain Shams University, the Literacy Unit at the faculty organized a workshop and a discussion ring on literacy and adult education, which was attended by, Prof. Dr. Islam Al-Saeed, Director of the Adult Education Center at Ain Shams University, Dr. Abdul Rahman Shawqi, Director of the Literacy Unit at the Faculty of Specific Education, and Mrs. Samar Maher, coordinator of the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education at the faculty.
The session started via Zoom at five in the evening and lasted for two hours.
The activities of the workshop began with a lecture by Prof. Dr. Islam Al-Saeed, in which he explained why the university participated in the literacy project and the importance of this step in the lives of the students, he also touched on how to attract the student to the illiterate person and create a desire to learn and the appropriate method in this communication and many topics of interest to students in this connection.
Prof. Dr. Islam Al-Saeed promised to conduct a three-day course for students through the Adult Education Center completely free of charge to teach students everything related to adult education as an encouragement reward for students who have learned literacy during the previous courses, a course will be conducted for them, at the end of which they will be awarded a certificate approved by the university for their attendance at the training.
The second session witnessed the opening of the discussion, asking questions from the students and answering them by Dr. Abdul Rahman Shawqi.
Then a workshop led by Mrs. Samar Maher explained to the students how to teach an illiterate person a lesson in the Arabic language and arithmetic and the form of the exam that the student will test, the dialogue and discussion was opened with the students again to ask their questions and answer them.
