The Minister of Higher Education reviews a report of the meeting of the Supreme Council for Education and Student Affairs

Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, reviewed a report submitted by Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Latif, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, regarding the meeting of the Supreme Council for Education and Student Affairs, which was held via video conference.

The report indicated that the Council discussed during its meeting a number of important issues at the level of Egyptian universities, including reviewing a detailed report on electronic exams in universities during the first semester exams 2020/2021, within the framework of the state’s vision for digital transformation, and in implementation of the Ministry of Higher Education’s plan to implement and popularize the tests.

The report showed that 10 Faculties in universities (Ain Shams, Helwan, Tanta, and Benha) participated in the electronic exam experience with 34 courses, with the presence of 2,751 students, the participation of 275 faculty members, 33 system administrators, 40 observers.

For its part, the Council expressed its happiness with the success of the electronic exam experience in these universities, which helps in spreading and consolidating the culture of electronic exams in the university community, pointing to the success of the Suez Canal University in preparing to implement this experiment, and the desire of Minya and Fayoum universities to undertake it.

The council also discussed the preparations of Assiut University to organize the summit digital forum under the title "Egypt of civilization" for university students and higher institutes, and the university's start of receiving the participating works from (April 10 to May 20, 2021).

The council was also informed of the addition of a new field for documentary films within the activities of the Mansoura Digital Festival for Talent 2021 entitled “Egypt's efforts to end the crisis of the delinquent ship Ever Given in the Suez Canal and float it”, so that the works will continue to be submitted electronically on the festival's platform during the period from 1 to 30 April.

The council also recommended adding the artistic and musical appreciation courses as optional decisions in the regulations of the scientific and theoretical colleges in which these courses do not exist, if their regulations allow this. Due to its importance in building the personality of students.
