The Minister of Higher Education announces support for five hundred and six projects, of which twenty-three graduate at Ain Shams University

Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced the results of the program to support graduation projects at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology "My Project, My Beginning" for the fiscal year 2020/2021, and the number is (506) projects with financing of about 25 million pounds.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Sakr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, the approval of the technical committees of the Academy to support (336) graduation projects for this year out of a total of (850) projects that meet the conditions they applied for support, indicating that the number of universities and institutes that will receive support this year reached 42 universities and facultys from various public and private universities, where the number of public universities reached (23) public universities out of a total of (27) universities, in addition to (18) private universities and a higher institute, explaining that the number of students benefiting from supporting graduation projects this year is 3000 students, and Cairo University ranked the first in terms of the winning projects, the number of (34) projects with a total funding of (1820620 pounds), followed by Helwan University (26) projects with a financing amounting to (1212,757 pounds), followed by Ain Shams University with (23) projects with a financing of (1326710 pounds).

Sakr added that three years ago, the Academy decided to cooperate with local partners who have previous and proven experiences in new technologies. With the aim of maximizing the benefit from graduation projects, as an entity specialized in an important field for the 2030 State Plan takes over providing technical support for a number of projects, and the Academy provides material support, indicating that due to the success achieved by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology's cooperation with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority through "Communication" incubator. The Academy has supported 130 projects in the field of Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence, with a total funding of (3900000), during the past three years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, pointing out that the Academy has also renewed this cooperation for the next three years to fund 80 projects in The field of Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence at an amount of (2,400,000 EGP) per year, explaining that it is a local competition at the level of all governorates for final-stage students in universities, provided that their innovative ideas are based in the field of Internet of Things and artificial intelligence or in related fields.

On the other hand, Dr. Amr Farouk, Assistant President of the Academy for Technological Development indicated that the Academy signed a joint protocol with the Alexandria Branch of Engineers to select (10) engineering projects from various advanced educational institutions to obtain financing in the field of smart cities, which is estimated at (666,000) pounds, explaining that it is the first cooperation It is one of its kind in the field of communication with professional unions in order to open new areas to reach talented and talented people in the engineering field, stressing the permanent readiness of the Academy to adopt any initiative from all state institutions that helps in reaching the Academy's support to various segments of researchers in Egypt.

Dr. Farouk added that the Academy signed a joint protocol with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport Company to finance (80) projects in the field of robotic submarines in cooperation with the Arab Academy for Maritime Transport, with a total funding of (2,400,000 pounds), thus bringing the total number of projects funded for this year to 506 projects with total funding (25 million pounds).

On her part, Professor Yasmine Samir, Executive Director of the Graduation Projects Support Program at the Academy of Scientific Research, explained that the Academy is the largest supporter of graduation projects in Egypt, as the support includes the largest student base in Egypt for the best technically accepted projects in all disciplines, noting that the supported projects may vary this year In several areas that serve the development plan adopted by the state, including, for example: electric cars, smart cities, artificial intelligence, green technology, energy and water, machine learning, explaining that the result has been announced as of today on the official website of the Academy www.asrt.sci.eg.
