Ain Shams University won awards at the National Festival of Egyptian Theater

The jury of the National Festival of Egyptian Theater announced the results of the festival in its thirteenth session today in the Great Hall of the Egyptian Opera House, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, the artist Inas Abdel Dayem, and the festival's jury committee. Cairo for Brides, the Vanguard, Metropole, Floating, Al Gomhoria, Al Hanager Center for Arts, Giza Cultural Center, Institute of Performing Arts at the Academy of Arts, Artistic Creativity Center.

Ain Shams University won the participation in the "Shelter" show for the best emerging director award, and was won by student Hussam Saeed Judah Abdullah, and Rawan Ahmed Abdel Moneim won the award for best second role actress. In addition, the clothes designed by student Hager Kamal were nominated for the best clothing design award. In the festival, within the activities of the National Festival of Egyptian Theater, the jury praised the outstanding effort of this university production, which took away prizes from the professional teams participating in the festival.

Shelter Show was produced under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdul Fattah Muhammad Fathy Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, under the supervision of Prof. Tamer Rady, Advisor to the Vice President for Student Activities and the presentation, is based on the performance of the rock bottom by Maxim Gorky, and the university presented the performance in the framework of the competition on Sunday and Monday 27-28 December at the Peace Theater of the Art House of the Ministry of Culture, within the activities of the National Festival of Egyptian Theater.

It is worth noting that Ain El Shams University is the only university of the Egyptian universities that participates in the National Festival, after the show won the acceptance of the Watch Committee, which watched many performances by professionals and universities. Teams belonging to the Artistic House of Theater, the Cultural Development Fund and some free groups participated in the festival.

The watch committee included the great critic Muhammad al-Ruby, the able artist Moufid Ashour, director Abeer Ali, art critic Bassem Sadek, and the young director Muhammad Al-Sagheer.

The show won the admiration of the jury and the audience, as the show witnessed an unprecedented public turnout despite the precautions applied, which led to the closing of the theater doors early on the two days of the show.

The jury included all of Prof. Dr. Osama Abu Talib, Professor of Art Criticism at the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts, and Prof. Dr. Atef Awad, Dean of the Ballet Institute, Prof. Sobhi El-Sayed, Professor of Decoration at the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts, the able artist, director Mohamed Abu Dawud, the able artist, actor Gamal Abdel Nasser, and the great artist, dramatist Karam Al-Nagar, and the great musician Mounir Al-Wasimi.

The theatrical show "The Shelter" is directed by student Hussam Saeed, lighting student Mahmoud Tantawi, preparing a music for student Hassan Khaled, clothes for student Hajar Kamal, makeup for student Nadine Ashraf, decor for student Mahmoud Salah, two directors of student Muhammad Abdel Razek and student Osama Mhanna, and with the participation of more than 25 representatives and representatives of university student.
