Inauguration of the Chinese "Le Pen" workshop project at Ain Shams University

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, opened the Chinese Le Pen Workshop at the Faculty of Engineering, via video conference, in the presence of Mr. Liao Liqiang, the Chinese Ambassador in Cairo, Mr. Mohamed Al-Badri, Egypt's Ambassador to China, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for University Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Wahab Ezzat, the former president of the university, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Husseini Al-Toukhi, Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and former Vice President of the University, Prof. Ahmed Al-Biwi, Chairman of the Technology Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Education for Technical Education, Prof. Dai Yu Wei, general secretary of the Communist Party and dean of the Tianjin Technical and Professional College of Light Industry, Prof. Dr. Wu Tzung Bao, Dean of Tianjin Professional College of Transportation, Prof. Dr. Diaa Khalil, Acting Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Amr Al-Husseini, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Rifat, Director of the University's International Cooperation Office, Prof. Dr. Esraa Abdel Sayed, Director of the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University and Director of the Center for Silk Road Studies, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Munib Al-Sabbagh, head of the production department and the supervisor of the project, along with a number of managers of Chinese companies operating in Egypt.

Ambassador Mohamed Al-Badri, the Egyptian ambassador to China, referred to the depth of the Egyptian-Chinese relations, explaining that the Le Pen workshop will allow the acquisition of practical experiences in several fields and the training of graduates of engineering programs.

Mr. Liao Liqiang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Cairo affirmed the ancient Egyptian and Chinese civilizations in the past, as well as mutual understanding and cooperation at the present time, as Egypt was the first African country to establish relations with China, and the Egyptian-Chinese relations were a model for Arab-African relations, stressing that The opening of the two Le Pen workshops in one country, the Arab Republic of Egypt, is the best evidence of the strength of the Egyptian-Chinese relations, as the establishment of the Le Pen workshop in Egypt was based on the personal support of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and his Chinese counterpart, His Excellency President Xi Jinping, President of the Republic of China. He added that the opening of Le Pen's workshop will produce a generation that depends on high-quality academic education and professional and technical training, and added that Le Pen's workshop will be established in 17 countries around the world.

In his speech he praised Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for University Affairs, praised this achievement, where students are qualified and trained according to the concept of linking industry academically with training and the labor market, according to the latest technologies, and it is considered a center in Egypt and Africa.

   

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, expressed his happiness at the opening of the Le Pen workshop at the Faculty of Engineering, referring to the historical relations between Egypt and China dating back more than 64 years, and added that this cooperation continues until now as Ain Shams University cooperates with Huawei in addition to the university's participation in activities The Silk Road, as Egypt, represented by Ain Shams University, includes the second center of the Silk Road in the world after Russia, to become a center in Africa and the Middle East, which opens up prospects for cooperation in many fields.

It is noteworthy that the Le Pen workshop, which was established in Tianjin Province of the Republic of China, took the initiative to be a famous brand for exchanges between China and the countries of the world, to become a platform for cooperation and an innovative project to develop the internationalization of vocational education, and Le Pen's workshop also received strong support from the Chinese embassy in Egypt under joint guidance. From the government of Tianjin Provincial Government, the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, with the participation of the Tianjin Technical and Vocational Faculty for Light Industries for Maintenance Technology in establishing two headquarters for the Luban Workshop in Egypt Elementary at the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, which includes three basic specializations: Technology of using and maintaining digital control equipment, New energy use technology, automotive use and maintenance technology, and the second advanced technical school of maintenance technology.

Le Pen workshop is the first of its kind at the level of Egyptian universities, specializing in the fields of vocational training and community service in a number of scientific and research related fields.

The project aims to provide an innovative service to students, to be a model for the rest of the workshops that will be held in Africa, as it will be implemented in ten African countries, within the framework of the Chinese state’s pursuit of economic development based on joint cooperation with the other and benefiting from all experiences and expertise.

The Le Pen workshop at the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University will include workshops for cars, energy, and computer-managed machines in order to train students of the Mechatronic, Energy and Automobile departments of the faculty and the Faculties of Engineering in Egyptian universities for practical training, where the student gets a practical experience certificate approved by the Faculty of Engineering Ain Shams University and the Le Pen workshop.
