the 7th Announcement of the Higher Education Initiative Program for Graduate Studies for Professionals 2021/2022

The Scholarships Welfare Office at Ain Shams University announces the call of the Central Administration of Scholarships regarding the opening of the application for the “Higher Education Initiative to Scholarship of Graduate Studies for Professionals” program in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development in accordance with Agreement No. 263-298 signed between the United States of America and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and this agreement stipulates To provide scholarships for the purpose of raising the efficiency of (Egyptian government institutions, universities, research centers and limited places for the private sector) to contribute to national economic growth. These scholarships are available to males, females and people with special needs.

Delegating types:

Scholarships for training in the United States of America for a period of one semester, with a minimum of three months and a maximum of four months

This Scholarship will benefit the recipients in enhancing their professional skills and research capabilities necessary to improve and follow their career path in the present and the future. The financial allocations for this scholarship are specific and not subject to the financial mission’s regulation

Apply for the program:

The application form for program (A) for the scholarship is available on the website of the Scholarships Department as of Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

Proposals and files of candidates will be accepted from December 8, 2021, to January 26, 2022.

Personal interviews are conducted for the candidates to measure the ability to communicate and the depth of understanding of the research proposal.

No discrimination between applicants because of religion, creed, gender, origin, race, color, language, disability, social level, or any other reason.

Available fields:

New and renewable energy.

Desalination of water resources.

Rare and modern engineering and technological sciences.

Computer science and information technology.

Life sciences (medicine - veterinary medicine - dentistry - nursing - pharmacy - science - etc...).

Agricultural sciences and nutrition.

Commercial Sciences.

Social, human and educational sciences.

First: Conditions of the Scholarship:

USA Internship Scholarship:

Obtaining a score of 52 in the TOEFL IBT or 5.5 in the ACADEMIC IELTS – “a binding condition when submitting the research proposal”

Working in a permanent job in one of the governmental or private agencies in the Arab Republic of Egypt to be appointed on the job for a period of not less than one year in service from the date of the announcement, and no one is excluded from this condition.

Second: Scholarship details:

USA Training Scholarship Details:

1- Training in the United States of America for a full semester, with a minimum of three months and a maximum of four months.

2- Training in one of the accredited and recognized universities or institutions in the United States of America.

Scholarship Allocations (The Scholarship Allocations are specific and not subject to the Scholarships Financial Regulations):

1- USA Training Scholarship:

Language degree fees. “In the event that the candidate receives the scholarship permanently”

Medical examination expenses.

Round trip economy class airfare.

Study expenses agreed with the university abroad, according to the recommendation of the Egyptian Cultural Office in Washington.

A subsistence allowance in US dollars is disbursed every first month since the date of arrival in the United States, with a maximum of four months.

Health insurance in the United States of America

Scholarship application steps:

Appointing a coordinator for each institution, who is the only one authorized to deal with the US Aid Unit in the Central Administration of Missions about the details of the Scholarship referred to in this program, provided that the coordinator’s authorization letter includes the following data: Name - Position - Employer - Email – Mobile number.

Submit the research proposal and the required papers for each candidate, through the Foundation Coordinator, no later than January 26, 2022.

The institution is committed to the internal advertisement with submitting a copy of the advertisement itself and a copy of the decision of the committee formed to select the best candidates based on the differentiation and selection criteria set by the institution.

Candidates will be interviewed in person to measure the ability to communicate and the depth of understanding of the research proposal.

General conditions to be met by the candidates:

Achieving the required language level according to the scholarship requirements. “A binding condition upon submission”

The candidate must be Egyptian and not hold US citizenship or a permanent resident card (GREEN CARD)

To have a high qualification (Bachelor - Bachelor).

Working in a permanent position in a government or private agency in the Arab Republic of Egypt

To pass the medical and security examination decided by the missions' central management systems.

He must have performed military service or be exempted from it (for males).

Family members are not allowed according to the program's terms and conditions.

Required Documents:

The application form for the candidates is approved and stamped

The coordinator’s authorization letter is certified and stamped, provided that the letter includes the following data: name - position - work entity - e-mail - mobile number.

A copy of the establishment's internal advertisement certified and stamped.

The decision to form the selection committee for the candidates is approved and sealed.

A list of the names of the gentlemen who applied for the internal advertisement stamped by the institution's executive authority.

A statement of employment status certified and stamped by the institution (in Arabic),

A letter of nomination certified and stamped by the institution (in Arabic and English).

Certificates obtained (Bachelor's / Bachelor's - Diploma - Master's - Doctorate) with certificates of estimation of academic years for bachelor’s or bachelor’s only (in English).

The original certificate of language level (IELTS) or (TOEFL IBT) that is valid and valid (validity is a maximum of two years from the date of taking the test).

Initial acceptance letter from the host university in the United States of America or correspondence with them via e-mail.

A copy of the applicant’s passport showing the current job, if it is valid until the end of the scholarship. A copy of the national ID card

Recruitment status for males (in Arabic).

Documents of private sector institutions:

In addition to the documents referred to above, the following documents shall be submitted:

(For the institution): an introductory letter to the institution explaining the nature of its work, labor density, the date of its establishment, and the extent of its contribution to the Egyptian national economy, if it is approved and stamped by the institution’s seal.

(For candidates): Brent private sector insurance for each candidate.

An A-form and a statement of employment status for each candidate shall be sent to usaid@cdm.edu.eg

Documents shall be submitted to the US Aid Unit no later than January 26, 2022, at 2:30 pm.
