The Center of Papyrus Studies and Engravings at Ain Shams University will organize a training course on "Restoration and Conservation of Archaeological Pottery" on 14 and 15 July. The course will last for two days from 10 am to 3:30 pm at a cost of LE 300. The first day course will include a theoretical lecture from 10 am to 12 pm. On the pottery technology, the most important manifestations and factors of pottery damage, the scientific registration of pottery, the most important methods of examination and analysis of pottery pottery).
It will be followed by a practical lecture from 12:30 to 3:30 hours (registration, drawing, and measurement of sound pottery as well as for the astonishing, tests using a portable optical microscope and applied to pottery models)
The second day will include a theoretical lecture from 10 am to 12 pm, entitled: Collection and completion of archaeological pottery, including the process of classification and sorting of fragmented pieces, initial assembly, final assembly, the most important adhesives used in the assembling process. In addition to practical lecture: 12:30 to 3:30 pm (including how to categorize and sort fragmented pieces, initial and final assembly using the adhesive, the process of updating the parts lost in archaeological pottery).
Course requirements of the trainee: Sketch small drawing of the Kanson - pencils HB and 2B
At the end of the course, the trainer and the trainee will receive the certificate of the course accredited by the Center of Studies of Papyrus and Inscriptions at Ain Shams University
