Blood banks at Ain Shams University Hospitals celebrate World Blood Donation Day, on the fourteenth of June, under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, Prof. Hala Sweed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Tariq Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Prof. Iman Omar, Head of Clinical Pathology Department.

The celebration is a continuation of the launch of the 5 for 1 program, which aims to provide 5 donors for each patient of blood diseases, kidney failure, tumors, and bone marrow transplantation, who need continuous blood transfusions from regular donors so that they do not have antibodies that make it difficult to provide safe blood for these patients.

The celebration will be through a competition among school students for a proposal for the best advertising program to urge the community to donate blood or one of its derivatives. The competition jury consists of professors from the Faculties of Media, Education, and Medicine.
