The Faculty of Archeology announces the start of receiving abstracts for its third international conference

The Faculty of Archeology at Ain Shams University is organizing its third international conference, in cooperation with the Egyptian Maritime Salon, entitled "Rooting the Egyptian Maritime Heritage: Traditions of Building and Equipping Ships in Egypt Through the Ages" from 29-31 October 2023, under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Hossam Tantawi, Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, Chair of the Conference, and the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Al-Shawky, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Rapporteur of the Conference.

The conference aims to shed light, study and analyze everything related to the design and construction of ships in ancient Egypt and their development and the associated measurement of the ship's vitality and balance.

The conference includes a number of activities, including workshops on building and manufacturing ships, as well as displaying participating posters.

During the conference, a number of topics will be addressed: workshops, materials and tools used in building ships in Egypt, designing and building ships in Egypt, ship equipment in Egypt, cargo and stowage of goods in Egypt.
