The Faculty of Girls organizes a virtual visit to the CMS experiment at the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Switzerland

Within the framework of the celebration of International Women's Day in Science, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit and the Innovation Club iclub at the Faculty of Girls, Ain Shams University, are organizing, under the supervision of Prof. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty, a virtual visit via Zoom application to the CMS (Compact Muion Solenoid) experiment at the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN), Switzerland.

During the visit, the attendees will be allowed to explore many parts of the experiment through the guidance team thereby wandering inside the control room of the experiment and then descending 100 meters underground to learn more about its internal parts and the used detectors, as well as the services and devices used to monitor proton collision products. The attendees will be allowed to interact with the counseling team, where all questions will be answered.

The visit is run from the CMS Experience Headquarters in CERN by Dr. Shaimaa Abu Zaid and from the conference hall of the faculty, and Dr. Aya Radi, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at eleven o’clock Cairo time, in the conference hall of the faculty.
