Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, acting as Vice President of the University of Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawy, acting as Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Shouki, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research and Supervising the Sector Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Eman Nasir, Director of the Center for Papyrology and Inscriptions, announces the organization of the Center for Papyrus Studies and Inscriptions affiliated with the Faculty of Archeology - Ain Shams University, its tenth international conference under the title: “Antiquities and Heritage of Cities and Villages of Upper Egypt.” The conference will be held from February 26 to 28, 2023. ‎

As Upper Egypt is one of the most important areas rich in antiquities belonging to different historical eras and eras in Egypt, so the selection of the Upper Egypt region was a field for the tenth conference of the Center for Papyrology and Archeology at the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University this year in line with the state's tendency to pay attention to the level within the Egypt 2030 vision, the idea of ​​this conference also supports the selection by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the "Upper Development" project as one of the best projects that achieve the goals of sustainable development 2030. The conference aims to study the cities and villages of Upper Egypt through the ages through multiple axes: such as tracking their urban development, Emphasizing its identity, studying aspects of daily life, in addition to studying languages ​​and dialects, with an emphasis on reviewing studies and experiences related to the rehabilitation of archaeological and heritage sites in Upper Egypt, in addition to digitizing heritage and making it available to preserve the Egyptian identity. ‎
