Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, organizes the international competition "Chinese Language Bridge", which is held annually with the participation of the Chinese language departments in various Egyptian universities and institutes, Prof. Dr. Esraa Abdel Sayed, director of the Confucius Institute, Ain Shams, and general supervisor of the celebration stated.
She explained that this international competition is organized by Ain Shams University, under the auspices of the Chinese government represented by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Cairo, pointing out that the competition witnessed the participation of 23 contestants representing 18 Egyptian universities.
The qualifiers were conducted among them online, leading to the final competition, which will be held next Saturday, May 14, at exactly ten in the morning, at the theater of the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University.
She added that the final competition will be attended by 12 contestants representing the universities of "Ain Shams, Cairo, Luxor, Beni Suef, Suez Canal, the International Institute for Languages and Translation", and the jury includes international arbitrators and experts from the People's Republic of China, headed by Prof. Dr. Nahla Ghareeb is a full-time professor at the Department of Chinese Language at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and the former head of the Chinese Language Department.
She explained that the competition prizes go to two who get the distinguished position, in addition to the winners of the first three places, provided that three of the first winners who have the first place and the distinguished position will get the opportunity to escalate in the international competition with the participation of contestants from different countries of the world, which is scheduled to be held in the Chinese capital, Beijing. early next summer.
It is noteworthy that Ain Shams University, represented by the Confucius Institute, is hosting the twenty-first session of the competition this year, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, a group of representatives of the Chinese Embassy and Chinese language professors in various Egyptian universities and institutes.
